In the last year or so, if there was inclement weather or a temporary power outage to my home, my FIOS services would stop working. A reset to the ONT via the power adapter would always fix the problem. However, in the last few months I've discovered several instances where FIOS services would be down (weather or randomly), but no amount of resetting the ONT (manually or FIOS app automation) would correct the problem. This loss of connectivity/service would persist for several hours before coming back on.
Anyone encounter a similar problem? Is this a sign that the ONT on its way out?

Check the status lights on the ONT and report back.
You most likely need to contact Verizon support. Do it when the ONT isn't working.

Thanks for replying. I did indeed check the status lights of the ONT during these periods. All lights were off at the time. However, the green light for the power supply was lit.

If all the lights are off, that sounds like a power problem. Make sure the power cable is securely plugged into the ONT. If that isn't it, you'll need a VZ tech to come out and investigate.
