Scheduling Recordings via web or DVR Manager

I just had FiOS installed a few days ago and so far, all's great, *except*...
I'm not able to schedule recordings on my DVR via the web interface or the DVR Manager app on my iPhone, or "see" anything on either of my two DVRs ("Bad Gateway" errors more often than not). I've had a tech case opened after trying to work through in a Live Chat session last night, but I'm curious about a possible cause.
It's been my understanding that the current Motorola HD DVR gets it's signal for *all* functionality -- all programming, whole house networked DVR, Media Manager -- via coax, using the MoCA network from the ActionTEC router (which also provides WiFi networking). I'm confused by some of the info in the troubleshooting FAQ, though, which talks about the WiFi network. Does the DVR rely on the wireless signal for remote DVR scheduling? If so, that may ultimately be my problem, since my WiFi signal isn't carrying into the living room with much strength.
Anyone have any idea if WiFi enters into it at all for the DVR?

No, Wifi definitely does not enter into this at all.
The "Bad Gateway" problem supposedly is a technical issue on the Verzon network side. As I (very poorly) understand it, some people (like me) have absolutely no problem communicating with their DVR, while others do. It is caused by the type of internet protocol set up on your account to communicate with the DVR and router; some are set up to use TCP and others to use UDP. UDP works and TCP sometimes doesn't. To get it fixed you need to contact Tech Support and ask them to remap your connection; unfortunately, based on the number of complaints here, it appears that not all tech support reps understand the issue and know how to fix it, so it may take multiple tries to reach someone who can help.
Verizon is working to provide a solution but I have no idea what it might look like, or when it might be available. For now apparently the remap by a Verizon rep is the only fix.
I hope the above explanation is correct, I believe it is, but no guarantees....

That certainly makes more sense than the WiFi red herring. Thanks for the explanation, Justin -- will confirm on this thread when the issue is finally resolved!
