I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

Hey Verizon. Let's cut to the chase. AccuWeather SUCKS. I feel like I stepped back in time 30 years. Horrible graphics. I'm getting dizzy with the weather people playing musical chairs on air. I could go on but bottom line, The Weather Channel has become over the years one of our staple channels. The loss WILL impact customer satisfaction. Get it back. PLEASE!!! I WILL NOT watch this crap.

Not acceptable Verizon. You are licensed by the FTC and need to operate in the public interest. The Weather Channel isn't an entertainment channel (although they continue to try to entertain ... albeit somewhat lamely), it is a PUBLIC SERVICE. People need a good weather forecast, period. During Sandy I had no power (for 3 weeks) but during the storm, I was glued to the Weather Channel on my FIOS app on my phone. It kept me informed and I felt safer for it - as the storm raged outside at least I had a clue as to how much longer each phase would last. During this current horrific Winter, each snow storm has been well covered by the Weather Channel as well as the local channel on ch.49.

For Verizon, with its billions of $$ of profits, to cancel THIS PUBLIC SERVICE is, quite simply, not operating in the public interest. I was one of Verizon FIOS first customers (when FIOS came to Long Island). I am also a triple play customer with all the extras. I also have a Verizon cell phone. My monthly Verizon bill is close to $500. Do I count Verizon? Does my opinion matter to you? Because, frankly if you do not consider restoring the Weather Channel, I will probably go back to Cablevision and AT&T. And I can't stand either one. But it is clear to me that Verizon has no consideration for its customer base and their safety.

I am very upset that the Weather Channel just disappeared one day, without notice or input from the customers who pay for it.  AccuWeatheer is a joke.  my 14 year old twins could do better than that.  I never know what they are talking about, or who's weather they are reporting.  I have to go to my phone to get the weather now and I do not like that.  I signed up for FIOS with weather Channel and I that is what I want.

I subscribed to FiOS TV partly because it had The Weather Channel.  If it didn't have TWC I would not have subscribed.

Now Verizon tells us that they are dropping TWC, and gives some corporate-speak malarkey for an explanation.  This was done secretly, with no notice.

Now I have a TV service, with a two-year contract, that is pretty much worthless to me.

Unless this gets settled real quickly, I will be canceling my FiOS services.  I expect to be able to do so without a penalty, since they are no longer providing what they promised.  I'm sure that somewhere in some fine print they have given themselves the right to do whatever they want.

There are also lots of avenues for complaints against Verizon, such as the PSC and the local franchise grantor (usually your local government).  I'll be complaining about this everywhere I can.  If you are unhappy about the loss of TWC, I hope you do so as well.

Verizon removed The Weather Channel with no notification or warning and no chance for viewer discourse. This is the tipping point for me, I will be cancelling my TV and Phone services today. Sneaky &%#*%!

It is obvious that under FCC Guidelines you can do with what you want regarding your service. However, to simply take the Weather Channel off the air without any explanation was **bleep**!!  I have a Special Needs daughter who depends on “Locals on the 8s” for her daily routines and when I found out just yesterday without any prior notice that you had taken the Weather Channel off the air and replaced it with a “Mickey Mouse” substitute, it didn’t go over well.

That said, unless there is a reexamination by Verizon FIOS to return the Weather Channel, I will simply go elsewhere for service.

Yes! Please bring back The Weather Channel. Removing it without warning wasn't fair to the paying subscribers who could've provided valuable input before the decision was made.

I can believe that Verizon would drop the weather channel. I kept it on in the morning while getting ready for work. It has some news, local weather and some great stories. I am done with Verizon. They are certainly not the cheapest cable service, yet seem to constantly cut programming and services.

Obviously, a decision made by Verizon based on their profit, with little regard to what their customers think.  Both the channels they have removed deliver valuable content from a community safety standpoint too.  It is decisions like this that make Verizon one the least admired brands in the country.  The email they sent was interesting, acknowledging that huge numbers of people no longer use "cable" service.  Removing Weather Channel is the latest in Verizon decisions that drives me closer to cutting the cord also.

Well this poor corporate decision by Verizon just sealed the deal for me to cancel their service when my 2 year agreement expires in june.

The channel packages they offer are already very limited compared to other providers.

The  perfect lesson on how to lose business.

I watch both the weather scan and the weather channel.  I enjoy the comments of Champion and Cantore and their whole crew.  I have this on all through the day especially when I am couped up with misterable weather.  What you have substituted is just not the same quality.  Please bring the weather scan and the weather channel back.

I totally agree about wanting TWC back.  My son is a weather buff and until today, he watched TWC throughout the day.  Accuweather is not an apples to apples comparison with TWC.  We did look at it this morning.  Accuweather is designed for people who tune into a weather station solely to get the weather and then turn to another program.  TWC was a full service weather TV station that not only gave us the weather reports and predictions, but also taught about the weather, had programs on the weather, plus, the hosts were lively and interactive.   I wish we had been given an option to decide what we wanted.  I am very disappointed that I had to find out about the change with little notice and I had no input into the decision.

I want the weather channel back it's the reason I renewed my contract. Accu weather sound is bad.

In addition to poor programming the replacement channell was stated in the Verison email to customers "FiOS TV WeatherBug “widget” application, which features hyper-local weather, on FiOS TV channel 49. "  In reality channel 49 only has a message stating that your Fios TV is working and that Weatherscan is no longer available.  Wihout weatherscan we will no longer see local town weather nor severe weather alerts such as tormadoes and floods.

As for the Weather Channel 119,  Accuweatherand does not include my town of Midlothian, VA and the sound comes and goes on my non HD box digital adaptor.  Channel 49 weatherscan was extremely valuable when tornadoes ran across my area a few years ago. It also runs through numerous towns showing weather I am not interested in.  There are no local on the 8s segment.

We watched many of the Weather channel specials such as Higway through Hell, Air disasters,  Coast Guard Rescue and others which will not be available.

As far as I'm concerned when my contract is over, I will most likely go with another service that does privide the Weathar Channel.

We don't use apps nor do we have computer on all the time.  For Verizon to arbitrarily to change this channel without first asking customers if they watch it regularly is disturbing to say the least.

Agree totally. Weatherscan is the first channel tuned into in the AM and last before bed. During the day, and especially in severe weather, we tune to TWC. Not all of us "access weather information not only from a variety of online sources and apps" or care to use widgets. Just because the snow is melted doesn't mean our desire to know what's happening meteorologically locally or nationally goes away.
