I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

Living in a Gulf Coast state, such as FL, you rely heavily on The Weather Channel to keep you informed during the hurricane season.  Dish and Direct TV cable systems are useless as the signal constantly goes out during any weather occurance.  That is why I chose Verizon Fios, with underground wires.  Also Direct TV had just discontinued The Weather Channel.  The elimination of TWC is another "ding" against your company.  You are seriously at 3 dings now,  maybe it's time to go back to Bright House.

We want the weather channel back.  Accuweather is terrible.  Guess when my contract expires I will be moving on.

Since Verizon is eliminating a popular legacy channel, when can we expect the rate reduction?

The price we pay for cable and the channels is outrageous.  To start eliminating channels right after you first sign up with a new company sucks.   TWC leaving Direct TV was the final straw in me leaving Direct TV.  Charging me for a defective secondary box top I rarely used was the main.

I totally agree.  For the amount we pay for our FIOS Verizon should come to my house to shovel my driveway let alone dump TWC.  It's all about Verizon controlling every aspect of our cable experience.  Didn't use to be this way!

I totally agree that Verizon should bring back the weather channel.

The Weather Channel was my favorite channel! If Verizon doesn't fix this mistake and bring TWC back I will be cancelling my service!

Really????  So who decided FIOS customers don't want The Weather Channel?  I don't remember being asked this question.  Please serve your customer base and not Verizon employees who decided the Weather Channel is of no value to its customers.  Bring Back The Weather Channel!

Exfinity/Comcast in Maryland still carries both the Weather Channel and Weatherscan. Weatherscan was my favorite and I used it EVERY DAY. No commercials and the local area weather was shown. If these channels are not restored to Verizon customers, I will be going to Comcast. No one asked me about whether I liked/used those channels. As far as I am concerned, they could take ALL my sports channels, ALL of them and give me back something I used daily. If they do not address this, I will definitely go to another cable provider or cancel pay TV altogether. And to offer me Weatherbug??? I used that annoying service in the 1990s. Nothing like offering cutting edge technology. I want what I was paying for and was satisfied with. If Verizon thinks I use the internet to get weather information, I can do without pay TV altogether.

Agreed, Accuweather should remain a phone app not a channel. Got to love it when accounting is running the show....no pun inteneded.

Please bring back TWC....since you also canned Weatherscan.

This was a total surprise.  No notice whatsover from Verizon until the day it happened.

Hey VERIZON, your customers should have a say in your content decisions since we are the consumers of said content!

Bring back The Weather Channel NOW!  My bill seems to keep going up so I think you can certainly afford it!

I have been with Verizon FIOS since its inception in our neighborhood (almost 10 years).  It might be time for a change!

I'm actually looking into possibly changing myself.

I also had no notice until an email today. It's very annoying! I've been watching Weather Channel for over 20 years and while I have felt it's gone downhil some I still find very helpful when I am at home wanting storm information. I've been increasingly annoyed with Verizon FIOS - with all the widgets and offers that flash on my screen when I'm trying to just watch TV. Not everyone has a smart tv or wants to use widgets. Dropping TWC is just one more reason for me to consider moving back to Comcast. If I could turn back the clock I would have not switched.

Obviously, a decision made by Verizon based on their profit, with little regard to what their customers think.  Both the channels they have removed deliver valuable content from a community safety standpoint too.  It is decisions like this that make Verizon one the least admired brands in the country.  The email they sent was interesting, acknowledging that huge numbers of people no longer use "cable" service.  Removing Weather Channel is the latest in Verizon decisions that drives me closer to cutting the cord also.

I agree 100%!  It is underhanded to say THE LEAST for Verizon to make this change without any warning to their customers.

Instead they send an email the day of the change to "explain" their reasoning.

I switched to Verizon TV last July and it has been a horrible experience right from the start - it took me 3 months to get the billing correct (and get the overcharges removed) and now they start taking away important channels!

Leaving of course all of the **bleep** reality shows and channels that are useless and crowd the channel guide.

BRING BACK THE WEATHER CHANNEL AND WEATHERSCAN - this is bad business and quite frankly a slimy move.

Yet another black mark against Verizon. We NEED The Weather Channel NOT Accuweather.

I am checking out AccuWeather now.  Very unprofessional.  Splotchy sound, screen freezing up, etc.   Appears to be a "novice" production.   BRING BACK THE WEATHER CHANNEL!!!!!

We agree.  Accuweather is not as accurate as what is presented on The Weather Channel.  We enjoyed its shows and will be leaving Verizon if it is not brought back.

Verizon once again is not in touch with its viewers. Bring back the weather channel now!
