I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

Leave FiOS and go to another company. FiOS does not care and does not read these forums.

my contract ends in MAy and I am going to switch out to another provider.  this is the last straw!

my box did not work correctly and they wanted to charge me for a tech to come out.

i wanted to drop my phone from my triple play and if i do, it will cost me $10 less a month which is **bleep**.  If you get internet or tv separate and add those items up, it costs $60 less than my triple play.  why dont they offer a double bundle?

goodbye Verizon after 7 years together.

Drop them now!!! They voided the contract by not supplying a prime channel you sidned up for when you contracted with them> THEY voided the contract! Dump them!. IF the weather channel is not back by tomorrow morning I will call my cable company and switch, They have a better version of the local weather anyway! Verizon you can bite me!

Bring back the weather channel and stop insulting your customers with the nonsense about how everyone accesses weather using different media. If that were the case no replacement would be necessary.  Negotiate with the Weather Channel and bring it back.

I will be canceling my Verizon subscription if the Weather Channel is not brought back. Accuweather is a joke compared to the services the Weather Channel gives to the public. Furthermore, why was there no prior information given about this?

I'll be considering my options as well.

Verizon should do whats BEST for its subscribers and playing chicken with the Weather Channel (owned byNBC Universe, which is  owned by Comcast) doesnt sit well with me.

Verizon should have paid the license, then if not happy, build a Verizon Weather Channel better than The actual Weather Channel.

Accuweather is not the answer, they are a joke.

When Verizon wakes up and figures out building their own Weather channel costs more than just paying the going rate, they will start coming back to reality and not screw with their foundation lineup, and the Weather Channel is a cornerstone to basic programming.

Not all of us "access weather information not only from a variety of online sources and apps" or care to use widgets. Verizon should be embarrassed, not pleased to drop these channels! Just because the snow is over for the season doesn't mean our desire to know what's happening meteorologically locally or nationally goes away ... grrrr !!!

I agree wholeheartedly. They also have some interesting & great shows. BRING IT BACK!

Oops - this was my post and I meant to say bring back TWC and Weatherscan, NOT Accuweather.
Chalk it up to my seeing red this morning when I couldn't get my daily weather fix!

I learned today that one of the  "foundational" and most useful channels delivered by cable services is being discontinued by Verizon - the Weather Channel is being cancelled and replaced by a new FIOS produced weather programming - probably because it cost's less to Verizon.  I'm very disappointed and wish I knew this before I renewed my Verizon subscription recently.  I'll be checking if I'm still within the cancellation period.  Verizon should have negotiated and got this one done with the Weather Channel.    Do I get a reduction in my monthly fees - you just reduced my programming?

I especially appreciate how Verizon seeks to explain away their loss of Weather Channel saying,  well... many people are getting their weather news and programming from other sources...   NO.. I pay significant fees to see this programming on my television through FIOS as do many other people I know...   nice try.  I can't wait for more competition in this communications space and will lobby for the same when I can.

Please change your decision here and negotiate to have the Weather Channel part of your standard lineup of programming going forward.

Brian.

I am also very dissapointed here with them. Pay more and get less seams to be the norm here . My question to them which I have not been able to send is they are breaching there contract with us.... We should be able to break it with them at NO Penalty to us for they started the Breach

I don't widget, I don't have apps on my phone, I don't want Weather bug (I have stink bugs), and I don't want AccuWeather Network. I don't need to see the weather all over the nation before they get to NJ.

When I get up in the morning at 5:30am, I want to see what the local weather is for the day. If I want a quick update, I will go to WeatherScan.

I like Al Roker, Stephanie Abrams, Jim Cantore, Mike Siedel, etc.

What a shock to turn on the TV this morning, and see some random dude, who seemed to be lip-synching, talking about weather in Idaho. Idaho????

Very nice, Verizon. What a sneaky way to put one over on us.

Bring back the Weather Channel. You are charging us enough to give us the programs we want and enjoy.

I am very disappointed that the Weather Channel is being dropped.  It is one of the channels that I watch the most.  I rely on the accurate and up-to-date information that the Weather Channel provides, especially during storms.  My contract is up in November and if the Weather Channel is not brought back, I will seriously consider dropping Verizon completely - Land Line, TV, Internet - everything and move to a competitor.

Complete **bleep** and IMO a failure to abide to the two year agreement I have with them for the services I pay close to $300/mth for. No advance notice??? **bleep**, not a way to run a business.....

I am done with Verizon.  The arrogance that they have in dropping the TWC is ridiculous.  Accuweather is not worth watching and I will also remove not only Internet, TV and Phone, but hello AT&T for my wireless business of 9 lines.  This is all about Verizon saving money, which is not being passed onto the consumer.

The Weather Channel is an important part of our day. The accuweather channel is a poor, out of date, substitute. You have to pay the price for a quality, up to date, service. if Verizon does not rethink their cancellation of this important service, we will have to rethink our commitment to Verizon. Our current bundle is pushing $300 a month and we still have problems. C'mon, Man!

What a sham this is. Verizon obviously has a stake in Accuweather and now wants to force feed us substandard programming.  Just makes it easier to switch services.

FIOS has been steadily going downhill. Many channels are just a pixelated mess and support offers no solutions. Now the Weather Channel drop without any notice. Bye Bye Verizon!
