I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !
I think your rational for taking the TWC of you progamming is rediculous!. You can get ACCUweather any wher. WTAE, you computer, your iphone. It is really not that unique when compared to the TWC. Also who wants to wait 5-10 minutes until the weather for your city come around again. Also your on your new channel sucks!!!. Its extremelypoor quaility. Also who wants to watch meteorogist popping in and out every 15secs. Its like watching a tennic match.PLEASE BRING BACK THE TWC, or I will seriously conside switching bavk to cable. You are getting to exspeniveanyway!
This morning I woke up and turned on TWC, or so I thought. I hate to break this to you Verizon but ACCUWEATHER sucks. Also TWC has some very good shows, and let us not forget the best coverage ever for weather events. This is solely a greedy decision and one where you did not take into account what the viewer wanted or wants.
I renewed my FIOS TV 4 weeks ago. If I had known then that you were going to cancel TWC I would had not renewed. Will be sitting down with my wife tonight and the discussion will be if we should pay the cancellation fee and go elsewhere after years of being a loyal customer.
You screwed up Verizon. But something tells me you really do not care as your loyalty is to your stockholders, and not your customers.

Very poor decision Verizon! The Weather Channel is more than just a weather report. Not a happy Verizon customer right now. What can we do to reverse this decision? Comcast carries The Weather Channel. Just thought I'd put that out there.
Why would Verizon drop the Weather Channel without any warning and of course not give a discount. Does anyone realize how many people will leave because of this. (me being one of them). My contract is up and I was goin to renew this weekend, I am glad I didn't. This makes my decision a lot easier.
The Weather Channel is used for a lot more than just weather. There were some very good educational programs and in the time of weather emergency, their coverage was what is needed.

I am also very upset about this. We check Weatherscan everyday to determine what the weather will be that day and current temp. More importantly, this is a PUBLIC SAFETY issue. People rely on the radar to show upcoming severe weather approaching and for t-storm, tornado warnings etc. During the recent snowstorm, the radar was extremely valuable in knowing when the storm would be clearing us so we could go out, clear out driveway, etc. I am so upset and plan to post my complaints everywhere!!

Although I don't watch the Weather Channel regularly, this is just another example of shareholders driving companies for more dividends. I'm sure now that Verizon is saving money by not renewing the TWC contract, we will all get a reduction in our monthly bill. As a new Verizon subscriber, I find more and more services that were promised and not delivered. (ex. having to pay for On Demand reruns....really??) I'm starting to regret moving from Comcast..
I've awakened to The Weather Channel for as long as it's been on. If it doesn't miraculously re-appear, I guess I'll go back to Bright House. Obviously you don't really care about your customers or their watching habits.
The weather channel is not just weather. There is other programming that I routinely watch so unless Verizon reconsiders its removal of the weather channel I will be changing providers.
The latest dishonest email from Verizon began:
"Dear Valued Verizon Customer,
Verizon’s agreements to carry The Weather Channel and Weather Scan have expired, and have not been renewed. ... Verizon is therefore pleased to launch the new AccuWeather Network, which will be available on FiOS® TV on channel 119/619 (HD) "
Not that Verizon is listening, but IMAO if they want to reduce service while keeping or raising their rates, they can ditch most of the sports channels or make them optional. Yeah, I know Disney/ESPN thinks they have cable providers in a headlock, but isn't that because they know the providers are just lapdogs?

Weather Channel : expired and not renewed... That's it? Just "expired" and "not renewed." Oh... and some malarkey about an increasing number of customers get their weather info over the internet/smartphones blah, blah, blah. Maybe an increasing number of customers should switch TV providers. If only there was one we could trust.

Accu Weather is not nearly as informative or entertaining as TWC.
This is almost enough to cause me to switch back to COX.

I want the weather channel back! I am not happy about this the least! What a dumb idea by a bright service.

Ditto - the AccuWeather channel replacement is like the Principal's Homeroom broadcasts in high school. UNprofessional. Bring back The Weather Channel. Verizon must be the only provider dumb enough to dump TWC.
