I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

In my TV plan, the majority of the channels are junk that I don't watch at all. The one channel--The Weather Channel-- that has my favorite TV show, Prospectors, is now being canceled, yet all the useless channels remain. Why am I paying for TV service?? I'm now re-thinking the whole thing. Please Verizon, bring back The Weather Channel!!

I am also very upset about this.  We check Weatherscan (part of TWC package) every morning to determine what the weather  will be that day and current temp.  More importantly, this is a PUBLIC SAFETY issue.   People rely on the radar to show upcoming severe weather approaching and for  t-storm, tornado warnings etc.  During the recent snowstorm, the radar was extremely valuable in knowing when the storm would be clearing us so we could go out, clear out driveway, etc. There is NO substitute for live radar anywhere else (insufficient on computer, phone app etc).   I am so upset and plan to post my complaints everywhere!!

Channel 49 is our major source of local weather information and we watch it frequently. It is invaluable in tracking the often unstable weather we have, particularly in the upcoming spring months. The garbage channel 119 AccuWeather that Verizon proposes to substitute is totally unacceptable. Time to check out Charter's options. Another example of corporate greed, no doubt, and a massive failure to consult the customer.

Unacceptable, unprofessional behavior by Verizon in dropping TWC.  At the rate they are going we will get two channels and pay the same rate.  They are just driving the millenials to the net and killing their own business model.

It's obvious Verizon does not care about FIOS or any of its landline services anymore.  They are selling California, Florida and Texas.  Most, if not all, of the senior executives are Verizon Wireless.  I can't remember when they added a decent channel.  I have been trying for years to get FIOS to carry the HD version of History 2.  All other cable companies carry it but not FIOS.  Why?  Also, a lot of people don't get their weather from smartphones and the internet.  My parents are in their 80s and don't have a smartphone and barely use the internet.  But they did use the Weather Channel and Weatherscan alot on FIOS.  Now they have nothing.  The Accuweather channel is a joke.... and this is from someone who has a Bachelors degree in Meteorology.  The only thing I agree with is the Weather Channel has way too much reality programming.  But when something bad happens they are there to give us good information.  VERIZON... BRING BACK THE WEATHER CHANNEL!!

I live on Long Island NY and fish oir boat very ofthe. I depend on the weather channel which has invaluable information for local winds and weather conditions for my area unavailable on regular weather forecasts. Also the featured shows on the weather channel are very good and it is one of the top rated cable stations> without THE WEATHER CHANNEL I do not need fios. AS such, if it is not back by nxt week i will cancel my contract and not pay early termination fees since they are not supplying a key PRIME cable channel, they are voiding the contract, and I will switch to optimum!

Verizon Please Name the corporate **bleep** who made the decision to drop TWC. He/she needs to go. Now I know why I need to sign a 2 year agreement. So you can screw me and maybe I'll forget about it in 2 years. This is why you have very few loyal customers.

Very unhappy that verizon will no longer offer the Weather Channel. I will definitely consider other carriers when my contract with verizon expires.

I am on cable for the Food Channel and the Weather Channel.  I would take the Cooking channel if I could have it without all the other bloatware.

I can get a generic local weather feed using local airwaves. I gave up on weatherbug sour years ago.

I am now shopping for alternatives. I realy don't want to go back to the X-men.

THe T's and C's of the contract says Verizon can cahnge the content at any time. The also say, by paying a penalty ?! that I can leave at any time.

Let's not hurt each other. OK?

Bring back Weatherscan and the WeatherChannel. Acuweather sucks. On 49 it just sits there offering very little local info even though I finally (after several frustrating tries) got a community "local" to me up on the screen. On 119/619 the herky-jerky feed blinks, flashes, completely disappears, and looks like a very bad Skype connection.  Verizon FiOS reverse this bad decision soon or I will join the growing crowd moving to another provider!

Seriously? None of you can take 30 seconds and visit one of the couple dozen weather sites out there and check the weather for anywhere on the entire planet? I hope Verizon stands firm and doesn't pay the absurd fees that The Weather Channel is asking for. That channel has become pure garbage. The only way I want it back is if they drop ALL of that reality TV nonsense.

I agree, channel 119/619 is no comparison to the local Weatherscan channel, I'm dissappointed with Verizon, too bad

we dont have the opportunity to go with AT&T Uverse.

We are extremely disappointed that you are dropping The Weather Channel.  WE WILL cancel if it is not restored.

There is no other channel that is up to the standard of The Weather Channel.  We look forward to their reporting and special features and do not want to be without it!!

OK Verizon.  Enough is enough.  If you think AccuWeather in any way compares to the Weather Channel, you are crazy.  I just renewed my "bundle" for a bundle of money and now you take away one of my favorite channels.  Do you have any idea how many people depend on that channel?  Hopefully you and the Weather Channel will come to your senses and make a deal, or I will be one of many switching to Comcast.  What a revolting development that will be.  You are committing business suicide and alienating thousands of customers.  Guess you don't care!

Fully agree.  I continue to pay for either services I don't want that are considered upgrades or depleted services that are part of the value.  Take away the Weather channel and Verizon should credit us with less cost.  That one was a biggie!  I would switch in a heartbeat to another provider, but I think there are issues everywhere.  You are right...Accuweather doesn't even compare to the Weather Channel.

I just wonder what {please keep your posts courteous} made the decision to remove the weather channel. I'm sure it was MONEY related and someone will get a fat bonus for taking away the ONE channel I turn on EVERY mourning. Thanks again Verizon for screwing up the channel lineup!
