I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

I have to say I switched from Cox to Verizon FIOS because of the service and channel lineup. Living in an area where North Easters can damage my property I need reliable information. The Weather Channel gives me the information plus more. I just checked and Cox still has The Weather Channel in their linup. I will be switching back at my earliest convenience.
Like Verizon I will just switch and they will find out as their equipment is being removed and the the contract is not renewed. Verizon, sound familiar?

I totally agree with everyone, Accuweather sucks and I want weatherscan back! The WC is far more informative than AW by far-- how about during the recent snow??? The WC is there with you, giving you far more information and weather related stories! THERE IS NO COMPARISON. BRING TWC BACK AND WEATHERSCAN NOW I DO NOT PAY OVER $200 for crappy AW! AND NO NOTIFICATION? What, VZ is saving money with AW or something??? Yes, I know, it's cheaper for VZ so more money can go into PAYING EXECUTIVES MORE TO KEEP THEIR COST OF LIVING HIGH AND HIGHER! And pay every other employee the same!!!!
BRING BOTH CHANNELS BACK NOW OR I WILL BE LEAVING AS WELL. HELL, YOU WILL JUST PASS ANY HIGHER COSTS ONTO US ANYWAY. BELIEVE ME I KNOW SOME OF YOUR EXECUTIVES AND they are talking!!!!!!

Comparing the so-called "Widget' on channel 49 to Weatherscan, Verizon, are you kiddin' me?
This widget is a joke. No, it's actually an insult.
I understand that Verizon may not be willing to accept higher fees from channels - but on the other hand, Verizon is expecting US - the CUSTOMERS - to swallow heft price-hikes every two years - when OUR agreements expire...
So if we are expected to keep on paying, Verizon should keep on providing great service - and this 'widget' is a POS - sorry, but that's just how it is.
I also think that this widget has always been available before - so this is no 'replacement' in the first place....

ACCUWEATHER is awful, The Weather Channel is so much more. The people on here are BORING. TWC is so much more informative there coverage is excellent and thier people at least entertain. What will we do when big storms come these people need to be blown off the air by a storm becaus I do not think they are ready to present us with GOOD weather forcasting. I will not renew contract if TWC is not returned tothe line up...

Taking TWC off the air without notice to customers shows little to no regard towards us, YOUR CUSTOMERS. Without the The Weather Channel, it is highly unlikely that we will renew our contract and stay with Fios. It is unfortunate but this is a deal breaker. We are very disappointed in Verizon's leadership.

Wasn't this the problem last year ?? I'm so glad my contract is very near to the end!
The Weather Channel was very much a part of my daily viiewing for the local Weather, news and Other shows-
Accu Weather S U C K S the reception is H O R R I B L E and Iwon't be using "The Widgets"
whilst I'm complaining - A G A I N- What is up with the SLOOOOOW Fios speeds? Are ya'all trying to sell some other piece of equipment to your customers?

I will now be looking at Comcast service since FIOS seems to be more out of touch than ever. This was a bad decision, is it because TWC is owned by Comcast/NBC? What's next, the Today show. I pay a lot of money and expect service and a decent lineup. FIOS makes you pay for everything whereas Comcast actually includes features and more programming viewing options included in their service. Now they do away with a quality program. FIOS get with the program, while Comcast is going leaps and bounds above FIOS I guess it is time to switch.

I can't believe Verizon would remove the Weather Channel, I watch this channel every morning, Verizon needs to bring it back. I'm tempted to go to Xfinity for this reason.

I want my Weather Channel back! We watch it EVERY morning and we love all the weather-casters on that channel. We love their weather coverage. No offense, but the replacement sucks! Don't like the format at all. Won't watch it.

Please reinstate the Weather Channel. This was the first program I watched in the morning to check the weather plus the entire family enjoyed their programming. I think removing this was a mistake...

So with Verizon's arrogant response that they know what we need and we don't, do they really expect us to like them. Seems like one more argument to support the FTC and regulate these guys!

I agree, AccuWeather is horrible, no local weather, it keeps breaking up. I can't watch it at all.
And, while I never watched the Weatherchannel, I always watched Weatherscan on channel 49. I miss it so much.

When we first signed up with Verizon, we were ecstatic! We even told others how much better the service is over Cox, but no more! Our contract is up for renewal in April, but we're planning on letting our landline and cable service go, and switching to Cox Internet. I'm ready to get rid of cable anyway, and their canceling The Weather Channel and Weatherscan just confirms the decision. I can Chromecast all the tv shows we want using Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV, etc. Note to Verizon.....You don't compete for customers by canceling their favorite channels!

AccuWeather is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE substitute for The Weather Channel. It circulates between nationwide information, doesn't give local information, not to mention the supposed meteorologists on the show are lacking personalities. I subscribed to Fios for the choices I was given in channels, including TWC. I enjoyed the PROGRAMMING it offered its viewers, which was much more than just the weather. Bring back The Weather Channel, or this household will be finding another carrier for both television and internet.

I resent the loss of the Weather Channel. You repaced it with ACCUWeather which takes up one third of the screen on the left side with nationwide city weather which has no concern to me. The same applies to about one fifth of the bottom of the screen. There is no weather coverage like the Weather Channel and you have given your customers a gross injustice by
not providing that service. I am imbedded with everything I use via Verizon: TV, Internet, Telephone, iPhone, and iPad. I
trusted your providing me with great service and I feel that I have really and truely been "Ripped Off". Bring back the Weather Channel. Profiteering at the expense of providing poor subscriber service is not the way to go. This action has
given Verizon a bad name for future subscriber actions.

We are certainly getting less and have to pay more. The accuweather channel is horrible and now we have to pay $1 per STB increase.
This is terrible.

I agree with those who want The Weather Channel to be reinstated on the Fios lineup.
I was shocked to find an impersonal and sudden email casually stating that Fios is dropping a cable staple.
For me, The Weather Channel is one of the few channels I ever watch. By far, TWC is my favorite all around station, especially during active weather seasons such as this past winter.
Retrieving weather information from my IPhone is great- but it only serves as a supplement to my primary means of obtaining forecasting from the on screen meteorologists.
I understand that there are business considerations regarding carriage fees- however I am hard pressed to understand how negotiations could become intractable and prompt a service continuation.

No thanks for eliminating the Weather Channel, and notifying us after the fact. Today a new email arrived announcing yet more channels being deleted. We are getting increaingly less for nothing in return. In fact, all you do it keep trying to sell us faster connections when FiOS is supposed to be the best there is already. We are not amused nor pleased with the direction you are taking. I guess now that you have sold us, we are seeing where that will take us.
While I'm here, I signed in today to find messages that my router didn't have the most secure settings, and that my contract was up for newewal. I thought I had previously checked the router settings, but did so again following your "instructions". Of course the instructions were not complete as the last page I tried to bring up said "the page cannot be displayed". Do you ever use your own site? It is abysmal. When I did the changes you instructed, and signed in again, I got the same message so who knows if I have truly upgraded my encryption or not.
Sadly the contract is not up for renewal, so that message is incorrect, and that is too bad as I would be seriously rethinking that about now.
