I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !
I always talk up Verizon Fios at work when people ask about what cable they have. Not anymore. Can't believe they did this. Accuweather is a joke. I miss channel 49 for a quick check of the weather. I tried the widget but it is inaccurate. It showed rain for today, not a cloud in the sky.
I'm unhappy about TWC being dropped but I'm not as devasted as some.I can get my local weather from so many different sources. From my local channels on tv. From radio. From the internet. From my phone. From my tablet.
Please reconsider dropping the Weather Channel. My contract is coming up for renewal and I am certainly reconsidering my choice of cable provider.

The Weather Channel is a great resource for families planning their day, watching out for storms, and as a source of intelligent weather information. Verizon gave its customers no notice about this and arbitrarily substituted an inferior accuweather which offers poor graphics and very little else. This is inexcusable. For those who say that you don't need a weather channel anymore, remember that not everyone lives off the internet and some people enjoy getting information from major stations, particularly those that do not need to "hype" their local weather to increase local market ratings. As Verizon offers 100's of channels - no, 1000's of channels - you would think their leadership would comprehend this. Over the past winter in particular, the Weather Channel was a fixture in our house. Bring it back. Show your customers you actually care about all your demographics. This was a thoughtless decision.
Have Verizon Fios lost their **bleep** minds? OH NO! we do not want to pay anything to give our loyal customers what they request/require or need. I called, I petitoined and i complained. My next step is either Xfinity or Dish, i refuse to do Direct TV because they are partners with FiOs .
I am really unhappy about the Weather Channel being taken off. The Accuweather would be okay if they posted the weather of our area on the bottom instead of everyone. That's what the man in front of the U.S. is for. I know that we have the Weatherbug but that just post the area I live in. Not the surrounding cities around me. I would hope someone will look into that. Please bring the Weather Channel back and the radar scan. This is just sooooo not right. No notice just bam here you are take or leave it. Well, I'm gonna think on that but I went to Verizon because Cox Comm is no better. Bring TWC back!!!
How many threads do we need on this subject? Is it really that difficult to post your opinion in the existing thread? Do you think the moderators shoudl have to spend time cleaning up the extra, duplicate, threads?

I dont miss the Weather channel at all as they turned into a TV show channel. You turn on the weather channel and there is a program and have to wait till like a commerical then they go to the forecast. And naming storms? Is that dumb or what?
I have been watching Weather nation now thats all weather all day and no programs with your locals. Bye Bye Weather channel and hope it never comes back.

Turn to weather nation. Weather channel is nothing but program shows anymore. Weather channel sucks now. I hope it never comes back.
We need Jim cantore during hurricane season. The weather channel has meteorologists we trust, with our homes and our lives. Acuweather appears to have college kids who don't know haw to speak on camera. I will not trust them to interpet the hurricane path
Bring back The Weather Channel. Optimum has The Weather Channel and all of your programing plus channel 12 local news (better then channel 1). I have no contract and optimum will meet or lower my cost of triple play
The decision to drop The Weather Channel is obviously extremely unpopular with FIOS customers
including myself. I think Verizon is seriously underestimating what a competitive disadvantage they are
creating for themselves with this move. This channel is a component of minimum cable TV service,
just as important as other staples such as FoxNews, CNN, and ESPN.
A wise remedy would be for Verizon to openly admit their error, apologize to customers, and to restore
The Weather Channel to the lineup.
AccuWeather is unacceptable; I do not want to flip on the weather channel and listen to the weather for the nation plus a large number of commercials. The weather bug is awkward and slow. This is a BAD business decision by Verison. Furthrmore, I discoverd that it is difficult if not impossible to communicate my displeasure to Version.
Please verizon bring back the weather channel. I only watch a few channels on fios, one of which is the weather channel which is a necessity. Their live coverage of the weather with Stephanie Abrams, Al Roker, Sam Champion, Jim Cantore are very missed by me. I dont know what executives made the decision of terminating this channel and replace it with Accuweather must have had rocks in their heads. Accuweather is very poor and no where in the league of the weather channel. I also miss the Prospectors and Highway to Hell to name a few of series they also show on this channel. I wake up with this channel every morning. I think you should have surveyed the 5-6 million customers before you take channels off the air. I rely on this channel regarding traveling on vacation and my everyday life.
BRING BACK THE WEATHER CHANNEL PLEASE.
My husband and I would like to complain about the loss of The Weather Channel's Weather Scan. There was never a warning that would allow subscribers to object. We are retired and count on The Weather Channel's WeatherScan to inform us of weather in our area. We do not have smart phones, have no need for smart phones, and never intend to get smart phones. Your Widgets weather information is useless.
The e-mail from Verizon said "In today’s environment, customers are increasingly accessing weather information not only from their TV but from a variety of online sources and apps." The same is true of TV providers. One that refuses to provide the Weather Channel is not one to which I want to subscribe.
I am cancelling all Verizon Fios services and switching to Comcast if the Weather Channel does not come back and so are all my friends.
