I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

Seriously?!  You take away the Weather Channel and replace it with an inferior product without customer input or prior notifications?!?!

Bring back the Weather Channel.  Meanwhile, I'll be looking at other vendors for TV needs.  Seriously, I don't even need FIOS/cable anymore.  I'll just use one of the many other cheaper products i.e. Apple TV etc instead!  Imagine the money I'll save!

The Weather Channel is a necessity used by a large demographic - what a horrible decision to drop a channel that affects so many!  AccuWeather is terrible-takes too long to get detailed info for my area, also don't like advertisements.  I am looking into other cable providers who carry TWC and will pay a ETF to do it if TWC doesn't return soon.  I called Verizon and was told TWC is 'old school.'  I do not believe this at all - everyone at some point in time has an interest in TWC.

I agree: The WC has good programs, not just live weather. I had it on my "favorities" for things like the series I alays recorded, "Why Planes Crash."

It was dropped only cuz Verizon could get Accuweather cheaper; uderstandably, since its an inferior product.

I agree with others, I should be able to cancel my 2-yr contract, in that am no longer getting a chanel I wanted and was pomise when I signed up. (bait and switch tactics). I will pursue his, as a bundled customer and a Verizon stockholder.

Bring The Weather Channel back!  I am disgusted Verizon dropped TWC and replaced it with such inferior programming as  Accuweather.  Verizon, you can't really believe you have provided viewers with a show that even comes close to TWC.  You certainly have demonstrated your lack of disregard for your viewers.  Verizon get your act together and return TWC to the viewers.

I cannot express myself  that the weather channel has been dropped from the lineup.

If I wanted Acu weather I can use my cell and do not need a TV.

Now I'm seriously thinking how to minimize my service with Verizon!!!

Sincerely,

After a half hour of trying to find this area - Verizon Fios does not make it easy to say "Please Give Me My Weather Channel Back"!  First of all - totally classless to never notify us in advance and give us a chance to comment BEFORE you pulled the plus.  Second - we are not all app happy teenagers who don't care about the weather anyway.  Absolutely love The Weather Channel and watch it every day.  Don't want to see cooking shows or makeup tips.  Don't want to be subjected to the depressing national news.  Just want to enjoy watching all my favorite people while I'm drinking my morning coffee.  Please, please, please bring the Weather Channel back.  Hate the new program!

I couldn't agree more!  Obviously, they didn't survey their viewer base.  I want TWC back!  I've been on the fence about Verizon for a while now...this bonehead move has pushed me over the edge.

Absolutely rediculous -- this is all because Verizon doesn't want to pay for it.  Some of my favorite shows are on the Weather Channel and now it - and Weather Scan - are gone with no notice?  Unacceptable.

Bring back the weather scan with local color radar.

We look at it daily.

The Weather Widget is an inferior alternative.

Yes we look at weather online but mostly we tune to channel 49.

The Weather Channel and Weatherscan are an important part of the reason why I chose Verizon over other services. My subscription is up for renewal, and I have liked Verizon , but will be checking other options now. Is some other option for quick local weather info being considered for Weatherscan instead of AccuWeather on Ch119 ??

I want The Weather Channel back!!!!! ; I agree, the current customers should have a vote to change on the change! ; The Weather Channel has a lot more than just weather....I used to watch it everyday day; Additionally, I watched Accuweather for an hour and NEVER heard the West Coast mentioned; Guss where I live.....California. I can live without Accuweather.....I want The Weather Channel back!

I DON'T EVEN CONSIDER ACCUWEATHER WORTH LOOKING AT.  I HATE ACCUWEATHER.  I'M SURE IT COSTS VERIZON A WHOLE LOT LESS THAN THE WEATHER CHANNEL DID, WHICH WAS THE PRIMARY FACTOR IN DROPPING IT.   I LIKE TWC FOR ITS OTHER PROGRAMMING TOO, WHICH I WATCHED MORE THAN ANY OTHER CHANNEL.  WHEN MY CONTRACT IS UP I'LL PROBABLY JUST GET A ROKU IF I DON'T GO BACK TO BRIGHT HOUSE. I THOUGHT I'D BE WITH VERIZON FOR KEEPS, BUT THEY OBVIOUSLY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS... SO WON'T MISS ME WHEN I'M GONE.

THE FIRST DAY OF HURRICANE SEASON IS JUNE 1ST, ABOUT  2 MONTHS AWAY.  ANYONE WANT TO MAKE DUE WITH ACCUWEATHER TRACKING A HURRICANE???????????  WE NEED THE WEATHER CHANNELS!!!!  TWC 119 AND 49 ARE THE ONLY TRULY USEFUL STATIONS ON TV!

Accuweather programming looks like The Weather Channel from 20 years ago! I want The Weather Channel back! The Weather Channel is much more than just weather; why would Verizon decide to remove it from their channel lineup? Accuweather has sustantially lower quality programming, I guess that's what Verizon wants to be known for......

BRING BACK THE WEATHER CHANNEL!!!

Hate the weather widget.  it not a replacement for the local radar from TWC.

Line up changes are one thing but this feels like breach of contract because it is not what I agreed to pay for.

The weather channel is way more than weather reports. If you ever watched it you would know. I do. It's amazing we sign a contract pay a certain amount (plenty) and get penalized if we leave early but you have no problem dropping channels or rearranging their tier placement. If I just lost 4 channels I should be able to pay less since I am receiving less than the contract that you AGREED TO. SEEMS TO ME YOU ARE IN BREECH OF CONTRACT EVEN ITS ONLY MORAL

I want TWC back too. Accu weather is ridiculous. It takes forever to see Philly weather, there are no local maps showing weather moving in for my area. I count on TWC many times specifically for the maps and storms as I travel all day in hospice home care. Please don't force me to consider going back to Comcast!

ACCUWEATHER IS USELESS. It doesn't even show the weather in my area. There isn't a decent channel line-up without the Weather Channel.

We all know Verizon could care less about it's customers, but this is totally rediculous. They keep giving me reasons to drop them. They finally did it.

Spring is around the corner and with it comes severe storms for a large part of the nation. TWC provides updated and vital information during those times. Some of their programming has changed just like most shows, but TWC provides complete coverage during severe weather incidents. AccuWeather is NOT a satisfactory replacement.  If TWC is not returned very soon I will look to leave Verizon FIOS.

Weather Channel and Weatherscan were the first and last things on the TV in this household (I rarely watch anything else). In severe weather, it was on constantly. I'm terribly, terribly disappointed with Verizon. A smartphone or tablet is simply no substitute for live, up-to-the-minute reporting with commentary from seasoned meteorologists and excellent graphics.

I called Verizon to register my complaint (1-800-837-4966) and was able to speak with a polite and sympathetic young woman. Got $20 off our monthly bill (BTW, we have NEVER had a contract with Verizon) until we wait and see whether this channel is restored to the line-up. As a Verizon Service Rep, guess how she found out about the dropping of TWC? By e-mail, just like us! How would you like to be the ones answering the phones on Tuesday when this hit the fan??

Removing The Weather Channel was a very bad business decision by Verizon.  It is unfortunate that Verizon has such bad customer service and a bad reputation among many, however, removing TWC is, yet again, a show of the bad management of Verizon.   What are they trying to do?! -- Lose many more of the customers who are already disappointed with customer service, like me?   I am considering Dish or DirecTV, which I have been informed have excellent customer service.   Also, all the cable/satellite services that my friends and family use have TWC.   Verizon, please bring back TWC and restore some integrity to your company.
