I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

I want to lodge my complaint against the removal of the Weather Channel. The new weather channel is no comparison to TWC. Our bills keep increasing yet Verizon keeps removing great channels. I have been a Verizon customer for years. My contract is up in May and I will be moving to another service. Verizon does not care about it's customers so I will find another service.

I agree. I don't like the accuweather format and hate the new channel. I think FIOS is forcing us to use a weather app instead of watching, just to prove their point. Not cool. There are other cable providers out there and it may be time to find one! It's not the first time FIOS has removed a great channel. I've been a customer for a while but I don't remember ever being sked how I want my money spent. Do we really need over 1000 channels? Get rid of some of those and use the money for good channels like The Weather Channel!

I agree with the complaints about removing the Weather Channel.  I came online to check when my contract ends.  I won't be renewing with Verizon.  The selection of channels seems to be getting worse and worse all the time.

I agree.  Bad move on Verizon's part.  If they want to stay one of the cable leaders, they need to provide the best, Accuwaether is not it!  Will be changing to Comcast ASAP!!

Our family is very upset with the dropping of the Weather Channel. The replacement is horrible! We pay a lot of money to subscribe to all of Verizon services (Digital voice, Ultimate HD, Internet and Wireless) and expect a decent weather station that we use daily. We have been loyal customers for years and will be dropping all of our Verizon services when the contracts expire.

Bring back The Weather Channel!  This new Accuweather channel is terrible.  TWC offers so much more than a brief weather report and will be sorely missed. TWC has meterologists who are actually pleasant to watch too. In addition to the lack of content, it seems like Accuweather hires people straight out of broadcast school that have totally fake annoying inflections when they speak!

I agree! The weather channel has been a part of our family viewing since cable TV began. The weather in all states is important and can be dangerous at times and we need to know what is going on.

The alternatives Verizon has offered are poor in every way. Settle your disputes and give your viewers excellent programming again.

II agee!! This new channel STINKS!!!. I can't believe Verizon dropped the ball on this, the Weather channel was way more informative and educational. We also miss our local weather information channel. It was something we checked multiple times daily.  We are very unhappy longtime customers.

I AGREE 100%.  I do NOT like this new AccuWeather station.  I liked channel 49's weather. It kept me UP-to-date on the weather in MY area and I could see what the week was going to be like here. Although The Weather Channel  wasn't as "area concentrated" for our weather, I enjoyed their reports a LOT more than this new AccuWeather that's replaced them. The people on this channel are boring and speaking in monotones.  Extremely boring.  Add some "excitement, something that will keep people listening.

I am not happy at all with Verizon's recent decision not to renew the Weather Channel and the accompanying channel on 49 which gives us immediate weather updates for our area.  AccuWeather has no weather personnel on hand during storms or other major weather events giving us insight into weather conditions.  I have watched TWC for years and enjoyed all of the weather personalities there and appreciated their extreme knowledge in how to prepare for weather events.  AccuWeather covers many cities and it would take hours to get to reports on our area.  There is no comparison.  As a customer who pays you nearly $200 a month, to not be consulted on this decision or have any choice in the matter, I feel very let down and insulted.  You obviously don't appreciate or want the opinions of your customers.  I am currently looking for other options.

I've read all the complaints from others who feel just as I do.  I encourage you to rethink this decision.  Getting rid of the Weather Channel, the leader in weather reporting, is like getting rid of CNN, the largest in the news business.  You wouldn't think of doing that!  Please rethink this.  It just stinks.

PLEASE bring back The Weather Channel and Weatherscan (channel 49)!!!  We were given absolutely NO WARNING about this change.  We were sent an email on March 10 saying that the change happened the same day.

Accuweather doesn't even cover our area on the Virginia Peninsula (Newport News); it eventually covers Norfolk, Virginia Beach, then skips all the way up to Richmond.  Accuweather is so unprofessional.

The Weatherbug replacement for Weatherscan on channel 49 is totally useless!  I entered our zip code, 23602, and it came up with Shore Park, VA.  I live in Newport News, VA, and grew up here - I've never heard of Shore Park and have no idea where it is . . . or if it even exists.  Weatherscan gave us immediate, up-to-date radar information and showed the radar in motion so we could tell if weather was coming toward us.  After much trial and error, I finally found the radar with Weatherbug, but it's in weird colors and doesn't move.

Not everyone has a smart phone or pad to check weather radars.  We depended on Weatherscan and TWC.  Verizon apparently doesn't care about its customers.  As a customer who pays nearly $200/month, Verizon should be able to afford TWC and Weatherscan.

If Verizon doesn't bring back these two channels, they should give us all a break in our monthly bills, at the very least!  Our contract doesn't expire for another year; but if Verizon doesn't bring back these two channels, we'll be looking into getting out of our contract and going to another provider.  When I called Verizon to complain, they told me that we would have to pay $100 to end our contract early.  We'll fight that, if we have to, since they're not providing what we signed up for!!!

I can get the weather from literally 50 different sources. From my computer. From my phone. From my tablet. From at least a dozen different tv channels. From hundreds of apps. What will the Weather Channel tell me that all these other sources won't. I'd like to see the WC back but it's not that big of a deal!

Not everyone has smart phones, tablets, or computers.  Other than our local channel weather spots (3 stations with reports in the morning, at lunch, and at dinner and late at night), the only weather channel on Verizon is Accuweather, which doesn't give up-to-date info on our local areas like TWC.
