I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

Accuweather does not provide any "Local" weather radar, which is very useful, but if I ever want to know what the weather is
doing in New York City or New Jersey, Accuweather is always there.
The customers should have a vote on this.

I renewed my contract last December 29th to Preferred HD with a Fully Loaded Entertainment Pack which included Nat Geo Wild. I downgraded from Extreme HD to Preferred as Nat Geo Wild was still included in this lineup and knew that a number of other channels were no longer available to us which was fine. Then, The Weather Channel is dropped together with Weatherscan. An email announced hours before dropping TWC on 03/10/2015.
Then our favorite Nat Geo Wild was deleted from our lineup on 03/12/2015 without warning! I called Verizon and first we were told that we did delete NatGeo ourselves with the remote hand unit. Not true! We can upgrade but never downgrade with a remote hand unit! Then, we tried with the hand unit to get NatGeo Wild back and got a screen that said that it is $2.00 per month more. Not trusting Verizon, we verified by contacting customer service and they said it was $20.00 per month more! How misleading that was! Besides that customer service tried to defend Verizon's policy and practices and to blow away any customer that tries to come with a claim. Quickly the $2.00 screen was replaced by a $20.00 screen thereafter.
Cox Comunications, which carries The Weather Channel, is the only other carrier in our neighborhood and we are seriously considering to switch back to Cox as we were with Cox before FIOS arrived, this, if it weren't for the very recent 2-year contract renewal which carries a tapering-off penalty to disconnect Verizon service. Very disappointed!

We are also extremelly disappointed with Verizon for canceling the Weather Channel. If there is no sign it is coming back, we will be cancelling our service and start back with Direct TV. Direct TV had dropped them, but has now brought them back for those of you interested.

I agree. We loved the Weather Channel. We checked and Direct TV has brought The Weather Channel back after not having it for three months. We will be switching to them. Our contract is already up.

Verizon eliminated the Weather Channel for their own bottom line without any regard for their customers. I stopped by a Verizon office (they closed down their equipment offices) and neither of the representatives knew much about FIOS and nothing about the switch because neither of them use Verizon. IF Verizon had really done a comparison between AccuWeather and The Weather Channel they would have seen that The Weather Channel beats AccuWeather HANDS down! Nearly every single time we turn to AccuWeather (we live in Texas) the weather forecast is on the Northeast... with boring Meteorologists who come in/out of camera range like that's going to hold our attention more. I guess they think the whole country lives in the NY, PA area! Oh... and the so-called Weather Widget that gives us up to date weather provides a snipit of the radar without any movement. Plus - Verizon raised their rates and the same plan that we had for the past 2 years is now $20 a month more. We are looking at alternatives - satellite or cable -- just wish that AT&T had lines down in our area! Bad, bad decision Verizon!

Why is Verizon not responding to any of these complaints! Are they waiting until the "unhappy" lists grows to the thousands, rather than the hundreds, because otherwise they already figured us all as collateral damage and it doesn't hurt their bottom line?

i use to have Direct TV. Direct TV pulled this stunt in cancelling the Weather Channel so i called Verizon and asked if they had the Weather Channel. they said yes....i asked if THEY too were going to cancel it....the person i talked to said "NO, that it would be in the package i just picked and would always be carried by Verizon"! so...i paid my early cop-out fee to Direct TV and signed a 2 year contract with Verixon Fios. BIG MISTAKE! it hasn't even been 2 yrs and Verizon drops my Weather Channel without notice or asking me if i wanted to keep it....after all, i signed a contract for a package that INCLUDED the Weather Channel. no one asked me or told me they were dropping it....am i a customer? do i pay a fee for a package that i signed up for? didn't i sign a contract for 2 years? do i have ANY rights for the money i pay to this COCKY business?? will i be charged a fee if i cop-out of my contract early? even tho I DIDN'T BREAK THE CONTRACT? even tho Verizon BROKE THE CONTRACT THEY HAVE WITH ME???????? i am paying for for a package i signed up for but i'm not totally receiving, so do I get money taken off my monthly bill for the station i am not receiving any more? we all know the answer to these questions!
well....i did it before with Direct TV and i'll do it again, fee or no fee! i depend on the Weather Channel and you, Verizon, have taken away a vitial and necessary public service. YOU broke the contract, not me! YOU can take your worthless TV channels and stick them where the sun don't shine. if its not back on my TV by the end of April....BYE BYE!
and.....i have friends and family in Tornado Alley...they have Fios too....therefore no Weather Channel. IF THEY GET HURT OR KILLED BY A TORNADO THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF WARNING DUE TO YOUR STUPID UNCARING DECISION TO DROP A VITIAL PUBLIC SERVICE>>>THE WEATHER CHANNEL>>>

I loved the weather channel and watched it every single day. Fit the weather and the TV shows they provide. I've been watching this channel daily for over 6 years! I want TWC back, or at least an option to pay for it. I used to love Verizon and now that they took this away without warning, I'm about ready to cancel and go back to direct TV.
Give the people what they want! AccuWeather is the WORST!!!!
I miss my local on the 8's. I miss Jim Cantore, Waking up with Al and even the fat guy in the woods (even though it's the wackiest show on that channel) .

The only improvement they need to make is bring back the weather channel...they're the best at what they do. Accuweather sucks. FIOS gets a little more time to realize theyve made a horrible mistake and then Im paying the cancellation fees and changing providers.

I dropped Verizon after 9 years. I got 5 (count 'em, 5) phone calls when I cancelled asking why I left. When I said loss of TWC, and the increase in prices, and the dropping of other channels, and a culture of non-service they really didn't get it.

I received the formatted, bulk Dear Customer letter from Verizon trying to explain why The Weather Channel was removed from the FIOS lineup. Not logical. The explanation seemed to suggest that The Weather Channel was no longer a viable or useful service. People, the letter stated, are getting their weather information from other sources, i.e., perhaps their cell phone. Logic breakdown. If folks are getting their weather information from alternate sources, swapping The Weather Channel for Accuweather is purely illogical. Your letter stated so. Remember, other sources. Not the same Channels 119 and 619. Plus I watched Accuweather the first morning after the switch. Graphics: awful. Sound: Worse than awful. Content: Compare kindergarten(Accuweather) to PHD(The Weather Channel). Get over whatever needs to be gotten over. Work out the differences. Get The Weather Channel back on the lineup in its rightful place.

Once again, severe weather to our west and we can only get snippets of info on national news stations. Missing my "on location" reports from The Weather Channel. So wrong that big business Verizon gets to make this decision without my input. But at least I do get to provide input when I leave Verizon (phone, internet, tv) on May 1st if TWC is not back in the line up.

I totally agree... just sad a significant weather event roll thru my area and accuweather was useless..... I rely on the Weather Channel for my profession and my home to safeguard property. Weather apps are ok but don't give a total pictur of what is happening when something major happens. BRING BACK THE WEATHER CHANNEL.... NOW

I am so annoyed by the loss of The Weather Channel. Today my area is expecting severe weather and when I go to check how far away the storms are I don't want to see little pictures of suns and clouds and the expected temperature or the weather for a city hundreds or thousands of miles away. If you don't bring back TWC or a reasonable local and national weather channel I will have to leave your service. I pay far too much for sub par programming like Accuweather. And this is actually a matter of public safety at times. Get it together Verizon.

We are very disappointed with the poor decision in Verizon removing The Weather Channel from our program package. Accuweather is worthless and the weather bug widget almost always fails to display a radar screen. Tech support tells me to reset my FIOS supplied router to fix the problem even though everything else works fine. I'm not going to reset the router everytime I want to check the weather radar. I only have a couple months left on our contract so we may be switching providers soon.

I am so sick and tired of Accuweather. I want The weather Channel back!! What does it take for Verizon to listen to its customers? I guess I WILL have to make due on my threat to switch back to Comcast. As far as I can see yu aren't even in negotiations with TWC, you aren't even bothering to listen to your customers, and you aren't giving us a better option. There IS no better option! I didn't know about the devastating tornado in Illinois today because I didn't have TWC for info. I had to see it on the news. I don't like watching Accuweather because the stories are lame, the weather is boring, and I have to wait too long for the weather in my area to come around. BRING BACK THE WEATHER CHANNEL!!!!!!!!!!
