I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

I am shocked you have dropped The Weather Channel! I also live in an area with many tornados and have family in areas that do also.  I will be changing my service after 10 years plus of being with Verizon. Accuweather is a joke.  Bad move on Verizon's part..........

OMG, bring back the weather channel.  I dont want to know the weather in Grand Forks.  I live in Washington D.C.  Comcast carries it, few friends switched back due to the importance of their travel and daily plans.  My brother dropped Direct TV, and went to Dish.  Get rid of the golf channel, give us what we need.  The Weather Channel......

We were frequent visitors to the Weather Scan and Weather Channel to view live radar, current conditions and forecasts.  The removal of those channels has been an extreme inconvenience.  And it is also a safety concern living in tornado alley to not readily have access to a weather in motion radar perspective.

I'm so unhappy about Verizon canceling the Weather Channnel that I will definitely be switching back to Comcast as soon as my contract is up.  This AccuWeather is horrible!  Good-bye Verizon.

When all the tornados were bouncing around in north Texas, Accuweather was COMPLETELY useless. I didn't want to watch the weather in Boston when my house might be blowing away. The Weather Channel always has live, weather updates when severe weather in the area.

Please bring back teh Weather Channel on FIOS.  Accuweather is a poor substitute - it seems like a high school TV project.  Weather Channel is far superior and most useful for severe weather information, especially during hurricane season.

After a year full of severe weather storms Verizon decides  The Weather Channel is a good way to cut cost?  Here's a clue....... I PAY FOR THE WEATHER CHANNEL! My contract is up in January maybe time for a change. Every contract Verizon charges me more and gives me less, thats buisness. But the Weather Channel? Accu-weather is horrible and Verizon is gonna force me to pay for it?  Usually I recommend FIOS as the best service available, and believe it, but theres a line. Severe  storm warnings is something I want available.  Did anyone at Verizon look at accuweather before they made this genius move?

Well here we are. Just over two months have gone by, and still no sign of The Weather Channel on FiOS TV. If you folks out at FiOS cosmic control are all as smart as I sincerely hope you are, you'll bring back The Weather Channel post-haste. If not? Well my contract expires in about a year, so we'll see. Hopefully, you'll have The Weather Channel back long before May 2016, otherwise when my contract expires at that time, I'll be making the decision not to renew it. So, FiOS cosmic control, the ball's in your court, and the clock is ticking... Bring back The Weather Channel. *tick...tick.....tick......tick.....*

I hate AccuWeather as well because it's inaccurate and It doesn't have live coverage like The Weather Channel does. When I first saw AccuWeather I didn't like it, and I still don't.

uuuuuuurgh! i hate it when i see the suggestion that the best thing we could do to send a message to verizon is cancel our service. it'd be better if verizon fixed their {word filter avoidance}

I agree - Weather Channel is far and above the best. When I called in to complain suddenly some of my channels disappeared and my 2 year renewal on terms I had worked out with the rep couldn't be found.

Thie deletion of the Wearherchannel and Weatherscan is outrageous. For those of us who watch the weather channel and weather scan stations all day long, this decision is very disappointing.  I'm sure you are just trying to save money but you increase charges almost every opportunity you have.  Your justification is nonsense.  The people who watch the weather channel and weather scan are the very people who DO NOT use online sources and apps.  The AccuWeather channel is inferior to the Weather channel in every way and it uses a very large border and a small picture making viewing less optimum.  The weather scan channel gave us a near real time view of weather transiting the area along with a local detailed forecast. This a business decision not one that is customer friendly or customer driven for other than millennials.  We will explore changing providers at the earliest possible time

Over two months now, and still very very upset the Local WeatherScan and The Weather Channel are gone. Accuweather is horrible, and WeatherNation, while slightly better, is no substitute. I complained vociferously and corporate did give me $20/month off and free HBO for the next two years, but frankly, I'd rather pay the extra and lose the HBO to have these very important channels back!

BRING BACK THE LOCAL WEATHERSCAN AND THE WEATHER CHANNEL!!

DO NOT GIVE UP, WE THE CUSTOMER MUST WIN THIS BATTLE WITH THE **bleep**(S) AT CORPORATE WHO MADE THIS AWFUL DECISION!

I would like to get the weather channel back. If verizon is better than the other competition they should have kept the weather channel contract and added as a bonus incentive AccuWeather.

Love my Verizon service until the Weather Channel was dropped.  Enough!  Complained and raised heck to bring back the Weather Channel.  Apparently, it has fallen on deaf ears.  Is there some kind of savings in one's bill due to the dropping of the Weather Channel?  No matter, a competitor just sent me a two year deal on the same Verizon services INCLUDING the Weather Channel.  The offer expires in about a month.  The only way to facilitate change is take one's business elsewhere.  Don't want discounts or HBO or whatever, want the Weather Channel back.  While I'm at it, mabye I switch my cell service.  A real shame that some kind of agreement hasn't been reached after all this time.

T minus 26 days and counting.

Well the hurricane season is here and we live in Tampa.  Every year we depend on the Weather Channel to keep us informed about any possible hurricane threats.  This year we'll have to rely on AccuWeather????  We have to sit through endless reports on cities around the country before they get to our city.  So annoying.  This past few days there have been tornadoes and flooding throughout the country but AccuWeather barely notes it.  We pay a literal fortune for Verizon and they keep dropping channels but losing the Weather Channel was unbelievable.  Apparently Verizon couldn't come to an agreement with Weather Channel about price.  Well what about us?  We have no recourse, no opportunity for negotiation, we just have to pay what Verizon decides to charge.  What can be done about getting the weather back?

Dropping the Weather Channel was a deal breaker for me. Today, I signed up for Comcast XFinity service. I got a deal with better internet speed and all the pay channels for slightly less than I was paying for Verizon. The big plus is I will have the Weather Channel back !!!! Verizon, you really blew it by dropping the Weather Channel.

I really miss the Weather Channel. I don't know what Verizon was thinking when it replaced The Weather Channel with AccuWeather. AccuwWeather is NOT a replacement for The Weather Channel! It's apparent to me that Verizon doesn't care about their customers since they went ahead and got rid of The Weather Channel and replaced it with AccuWeather which is no where near the quality and quantity of The Weather channel. It would be EXTREMELY GREAT if Verizon would actually listen to its customers and bring back The Weather Channel. However, Verizon isn't listening and doesn't want to listen to its customers. Otherwise, The Weather Channel would once again be part of the FIOS TV channels! I didn't realize how much I've missed The Weather Channel during the last several months until I visited my sister in CT who has COX with The Weather Channel. If there were anything that Verizon customers could do to get thru to the blockheads at Verizon to bring back The Weather Channel, I know that many, many, many Verizon customers would do it. However Verizon isn't and doesn't want to listen to its customers so getting The Weather channel back anytime in the future won't happen. Gee, COMCAST is looking better and better!!

Truly **bleep** about losing the National Weather Service channel (ch 49 on our system here in Garland, Texas).  We can no longer quickly look at live weather radar by simply poking in 49 on our flipper.  Instead, they now want us to use the Weather widget . . . . . which is absolutely horrible!  For one thing, it takes forever to come up.  Waiting, waiting, waiting, and finally . . .. but the weather radar isn't live.  It's just a snapshot.  So we cannot tell whether the storms are coming or going.

I'm truly unhappy with Verizon's decision to drop channel 49.  The Weather Channel was of occasional use, but my household used channel 49 many times a day.  It was the first thing we'd call up on the bedroom TV each morning; to see what was in store for us.

Thanks a lot, Verizon.  I may be stuck with your service; but I'm not referring anyone else to it.

OH, and the new Accuweather channel"?  Every time I tune to it, they're showing weather in the Northeast USA.  We can be having tornados, floods, and other serious weather in Dallas, Texas, but Accuweather shows that they're having a nice day in New York City, Philly, Washington DC, Boston, Maine up there.  I DON'T CARE what's happening in Boston!  When we're having dangerous storms, I need information about where they are and which way they're moving.   Verizon may as well be showing the weather in Timbuktu!
