I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

where is the weather channel????????????? i had Direct TV and changed to Verizon when they removed the Weather Channel from their TV line up...b/c Verizon had that channel. i have Fios. up to now all was well. tonite all that changed! i turned my TV on and the Weather Channel was GONE! did anyone from Verizon ask us if we'd like it removed? NO! of course not!!! seems Verizon don't give a rats butt about what its customers like or want....just like the greedy companies....is all about money and to hell with the customers! well, i told Direct TV i'd leave if the weather channel didn't come back...and i did! so...i am going to leave Verizon and go back to Direct...they have a heck of a deal going right now and have been begging me to come back and will pay me to do it too!
i advise anyone that wants the weather channel back to call Verizon and if that don't work...well.....Direct TV has a great deal going right now......
btw....that crappy so called weather channel they are giving us really sucks!
and that lame excuse that people have weather apps on their smart phones....well, guess what Verizon....not EVERYONE has a cell phone or a SMART phone! i don't!!!!!
and i know a few others that don't! not everyone can afford one. and i don't have a rich daddy to buy me one either!
i want my Weather Channel; back or i am leaving Verizon! THAT is a PROMISE!

Like many others I am disappointed with the deletion of the Weather Channel from the FiOS service. This is one of our favorite channels even during good weather. No other channel provides in-depth nationwide coverage during natural disasters. Please bring it back.

Verizon is therefore pleased to launch the new AccuWeather Network, which will be available on FiOS® TV on channel 119/619 (HD) and on our free FiOS Mobile App starting March 10, 2015. Verizon will also provide the FiOS TV WeatherBug “widget” application, which features hyper-local weather, on FiOS TV channel 49. WeatherBug can also be launched by pressing the “widget” button on the FiOS TV remote.

Being a paying customer since FIOS went into the ground, this is unacceptable to cut off the Weather Cannel. Replaced by two cardboard cut-out weather people with video that skips and stops. This is not what I am paying for, second rate service. But, as they use the say on TV, Verison is the phone company and we DON"T have to care!
It was true back then and true with Verison's "corporate decision" not to renew one of the main-stays of my house hold.
Bring the Weather Channel BACK!

I am extremely disappointed in Verizon's decision to discontinue The Weather Channel. TWC is so imformative and provides great service to viewers. What channel does everyone turn to when they need updates on important weather communications? Sorry Verizon but Fios1 and the widgets just don't cut it. Bad decision. Stop nickel and diming your customers and providers.

I agree as well. Bring back the weather channel. Accuweather is bad and so pixellated we cannot even watch it. Weather channel had more beisde the weather and it was much better. Bad move Verizon!!!

I agree, bring back the Weather Channel!! I have been a loyal Weather Channel watcher for many years. I watch the regular channel and the local channnel every day. I am upset that TWC was dropped with no advance notice, and with no input from subscribers. Just tried to watch AccuWeather and it is terrible! Please bring TWC back!

Much to our surprise, we were watching Accuweather - instead of The Weather Channel this morning! Well, we weren't watching it for long...it was too painful. Not only was the sound distorted, but the picture was pixelated...it was horrible quality! We are SO disappointed that this was with no warning, and we are paying premium fees...for this?? Since we switched over to Verizon Fios a few years ago, we have been very happy with our service - until now. Our decision for staying with Verizon was the quality of the programs and the selections, including The Weather Channel. Now that our contract will be up shortly, this gives us pause to renew. No other channel covers the weather like The Weather Channel! Please bring it back!

I'm all for starting a petition to get the Weather Channel back. I do not agree with Verizon not informing it's customers. I live in Texas (tornado alley) - the Weather Channel is VERY important to me and my family(tornado season is starting NOW) and the Weather Channel is an important programming choice - just look at the past few weeks weather.
I "Lived Chatted" with a Verizon employee early this morning and they did not know what was going on either. I called Verizon when I got to work and had to repeat myself 3 times. I then just told the guy forget it, I was not going to say it a 4th time. I had to call again later and finally got someone that could understand me.
This morning AccuWeather was a taped few minutes that kept replaying over & over. Tonight the audio on AccuWeather was bad.
I am very unhappy. I feel Verizon dropped the ball with their choice and with how they handle customer service. Not telling your customers was very wrong.
I sgned up for the Weather Channel as part of my programming. I want the Weather Channel. I want the best, professional weather especially when the weather is dangerous and life threatening.

You have been removing channels for years. You misrepresented your price to me, and kept me on the phone for hours. We switched from cablevision, and FIOS was always worse for news and weather. Cablevision news 12 weather was way better than anything you have. But we accepted channel 49 as a poor substitution. Now, taking away the weather channel is just about the last straw, we will probably have to go back to cablevision at the end of our contract.

I renewed my FIOS agreement with Verizon at the beginning of the year and also switched my cell service from AT&T to Verizon. In hindsight, both were extremely bad decisions. The channel lineup on Verizon was lame to begin with in comparison to competitors similarly priced packages (no NFL Network, no Golf Channel, no ESPN2, no Sundance, etc.). It may sound rediculous, but TWC and Weatherscan were some of the channels I got the most value out of. When I tried to check the weather this morning, I received the unceramonious message that it was no longer available. Just added fuel to the fire. of my overall disappointment with Verizon.
I switched to Verizon wireless because I had heard that there coverage was much better in the locations I travel to and their overall service was superior. Unfortunately, that is definitely not the case. I guess I'm partially at fault for naively buying into the bogus marketing hype. Coverage is often spotty at best in some major urban areas. The features and functionality of their service and equipment falls short of my previous provider. If I had it to do over I would still be with AT&T paying a lower monthly fee and enjoying superior coverage and service.
Live and learn...and learn I will. When my agreement with Verizon expires, I will definitely not be renewing (just like they chose not to do with TWC). I hope the move to discontinue TWC reaped Verizon significant financial benefits. They'll need it to make up for the customers they've disappointed and will eventually lose.
I only wish I had the same freedom to change my mind mid-contract as they have. I'm tired of their unfair practice, substandard service, abysmal coverage and lame channel lineups.
Consider me gone as soon as I can be.

Contrary to what Verizon wrote to me in their email sent this morning, I am NOT a valued customer. If I were valued, Verizon would not have taken away The Weather Channel, or at the very least, allowed me to vote on whether it stays or go or let me know that they were removing it sooner than the day off. Verizon NEEDS to bring back The Weather Channel!!! AccuWeather is a HORRIBLE attempt as a substitute. AccuWeather's signal continuously goes in and out, and it just flat out is NOT The Weather Channel. Why is Verizon removing channels from its lineups?!

I want to file a complaint. I am furious that the Weather channel has been dropped. It is my favorite channel and I am seriously considering dropping verizon
Bring it back! Accuweather does not have the personalities, experts, analysis, reporter coverage or shows... It not only gives the weather forecast the weather channel also teaches about weather patterns and phenomena. It is the only place where you can actually watch shows about the weather. Come on! what are you thinking Verizon? Dropping Jim Cantore?

Shameful! We rarely watch TWC, but used Weatherscan constantly. If I will be forced to replace that, perhaps I will just replace the rest of the services too. If the hardware glitches are not enough, removing this public service is.
