AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

My wife and I have only watched about 5 mins of the accuweather and it sucks. I really want the weather channel back. I live in NYS but so far I have only seen weather for NYC. NYS is not only NYC . Please bring back the weather channel. We are not happy customers at the moment.

There are no longer any weather warnings on channels 119 or 0049 here in Dallas. Why has this service been removed? It is important to have these warnings as it is the only method we have of obtaining them. The cable campanies need to own up to their public service in the local areas they provide service. So far, this is no longer the case with Verizon.

The replacements for the WeatherScan on Channel 49 and The Weather Channel are not even close substitues. They are sloppy and do not provide the detail that we had prior to the contract expiration. Verizon has down graded my service with no input. Several years ago I left Comcast when they made an arbitrary change to my service with no notice. I will do the same with Verizon. My wife checked that WeatherScan all the time. Her disgust with the new 'widget' is voiced to me every time she tries to look at it. The Accuweather channel is not even close to the The Weather Channel. There were also programs she watched on TWC that we lost. Verizon does not care about its customers and until the subscriber count is hit negatively, they will not react.

The Weather Channel has saved lives and gives up to the minute weather all over the country. I have family that live across the south where most of the tornados hit. I need to know what is going on and NO ONE does it better or comes close to what The Weather Channel has to offer. This new channel is horrible. You have either a Barbie or Ken giving boring lightweight forecasts that look like they are all prerecorded from the day before. I can't even turn in on. HORRIBLE PROGRAMMING! I have been in a tornado and was warned that I had seconds to get to cover.
During Hurricane Sandy The Weather Channel was our hero. They gave us so much information.
PLEASE RECONSIDER.

Have tried to keep an open mind over this new Weather Channel. Watched it many a time now and it is really really really BAD. They jump all over the place, and I really do not get my weather. So when do we get credit for being taken advantage of. Verizon.com broke their contract with all subscribers this is a FACT . Please recify this.. I will not renew with this kind of nonsence

I really miss The Weather Channel. I did not just watch the weather, although the weather was way better than this Accu Weather that is only annoying. Please bring back the channel that was on my lineup when I signed on. How could you just go ahead and take it off without checking with your customers? I am strongly considering changing my tv and internet to a company that carries The Weather Channel.

I have had Verizon for quite a while now and one of the first things I didwhen I woke up each day was to turn to the weather channel to see what the local weather would be. It was also the last thing I watched at night.
I also enjoyed the show Highway thru Hell.
Now I, along with others, we are stuck with the Fox Accu weather channels.
To me this is like comparing a Maseratti (weather Channel) with a Yugo (Fox's weather).
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the original weather channel.
If you don't I will seroiusly considering going back to Comcast, even though they have the worse customer service in the marketplace.

I am very unhappy with verizon eliminating the weather channel. The channel was one of our reasons for selecting verizon! We are considering getting rid of verizon. At this point.we would NOT reccommend verizon to anyobe! Please reconsider adding back this channel or I am sure you will loseother customers.

Looks like FIOS may be the first of other service providers to drop TWC.
THis is from an article in the Wall Street Journal:
Meanwhile, another battle is looming with satellite provider Dish Network Corp. The companies’ carriage contract expires in coming months and the Weather Channel’s backers are preparing for the possibility of being dropped by Dish, which has about 14 million subscribers, the people familiar with the matter said.
The financial outlook for parent company Weather Co. is deteriorating. Moody’s Investors Service on Friday downgraded the company’s debt, saying it isn’t perceived by cable and satellite companies as a “must have” channel, and could therefore be dropped by more providers or face cuts in carriage fees.
All of this is raining on the ability of the company’s owners—a consortium that includes private-equity firms Bain Capital LLC and Blackstone Group LP, and Comcast Corp.’s NBCUniversal—to exit the roughly $3.5 billion investment they made when they purchased Weather Co. in 2008. No formal sale process is under way, some people close to the company said.
Its a video. Here is the source:

For the amount we pay each month and having channels dropped, is totally unacceptable. We are given channels that are not at all what we want to watch. The last straw was the dropping of the weather channel and replaced with accuweather, which is a complete joke. I am currently checking into other providers and will be cancelling verizon in the very near future.

I think AccuWeather is horrid. We are located in the Boston area and we relied on The Weather Channel for information during the 2014 - 2015 Winter season. It was almost the only thing that we watched during the entire month of February. Verizon FiOS became much less valuable to us when they made the decision to drop The Weather Channel. Our next door neighbors just switched to another provider. I'm sure they're not the only ones who have decided that Verizon is becoming less useful.
I just registered for this forum specifically to lodge this complaint. This issue matters to me.

What happened to The Weather Channel? The replacement program- AccuWeather is horrible. It is uninteresting and lacks good content. It is like going back in time to the 80's or 90's. Who at Verizon made this bad decision to dump The Weather Channel??? Very bad move, as Verizon will lose many customers.

I absolutely agree. AccuWeather is a pretty tacky channel. I understand that it is a fledgling netwrok but, as a weather forecaster, it is not the most accurate from a statistical review of others. The Weather Channel had a nice presentation of weather, special programming. I wasn't the biggest fan of the new morning format but they seemed to be adjusting. And it did a great job of local weather. So - I will never turn to the AccuWeather channel. I won't give them the ratings.

I am unsure why Verizon felt the need to remove the weather channel from it's channel lineup. The subscibers enjoy the content that the weather channel provides. The Weather channel provides much more than just weather forcasts. They provide other content and life coverage of natural disasters. AccuWeather Is Just Forcasts and has very little coverage of any natural disasters. The AccuWeather channel is subpar to the weather channel and does not even compete. Your tv subsciptions will decline if you continue to purchase cheap channels and charging the same premium for services. Directv is looking like a much better deal for TV service than Fios is at this point. A lot of customers have shown concern for the loss of The Weather Channel and your blatent disregard for the concern of your subscribers paints a clear picture of how much your subscribers mean to you. Your company is more concerned with lining your pockets and your CEO is more concerned with his Bonus checks than providing quality content to your subscibers. If you continue to run your business in the way you have been, Your going to wind up putting yourself out of business. The loss of annual revenue year after year is not only from the cost of installation. The games you play with your customers and the quality of your tv programming and internet and the cost you charge your subscribers is a major factor as to your loss of revenue.

AccuWeather is awful. I get that TWC has expanded to more reality type programming, but I don't tune in for that. I tune in for the LOCAL weather - especially during hurricane season! When I can't get the local weather on TWC, I go to TWC's loop channel. The WeatherBug widget is horrendous, so I don't use that. Verizon's argument is that the weather can be obtained from numerous other sources, but if I was interested in running everything through my phone or laptop, why would I waste my time with Verizon cable? Oh that's right, the high prices... Dopey me.

Just got off the phone with Verizon. They threatened to charge me $90.00 if I got rid of my cable package. After waiting for 10 minutes to talk to a supervisor, the agent told me that I would not be charged the fee, if I kept my Verizon internet.
What a racket! I think I'll cancel my services bit by bit.
The agent mentioned that there was no one available to take any comments or feedback on Verizon services. Looks like they have given up on customer service.
For giggles, I counted how many channels I have never tuned to on cable. 178 channels that I have access to ,but have never seen. Yet, the one channel i watched every day was stripped from the line-up with no notice and no reduction in rate.
I want the Weather Channel Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a resident of Florida, you are putting lives at risk during hurricane season by taking the Weather Channel away. AccuWeather is useless and a joke, have never seen a report worth watching. Hope Verizon is happy with their millions, come end of my contract you better believe I'm going else where for TV service!
