I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

To be quite frank we've put up with a lot of minor inconveniences with this service but due to the pricing we learned to endure. Now, however, we are Strongly considering returning to Cox. Stripping us of the weather channel we so enjoyed is most likely our last straw. If nothing happens in a couple of days, we're history!

Accuweather is no substitution for the iconic and very much better The Weather Channel. Dubious reasoning for not being there at 119 suddenly along with the local radar on 49. We look at those channels close to every day and during an actual weather event (see: climate change) I will only know the conditions in Islip, NY (no offense) via the "accuweather" channel. Where will Cantore be? I sadly won't know. BRING BACK THE WEATHER CHANNEL. What's next to go Verizon? the CSPAN channels?

What happened to Weatherscan? Why isn't it available any more?

I agree, accuweather is TERRIBLE!!!!!!! All they want to cover is the east coast! And I live in Dallas. Severe storm time is right around the corner and I am worried about getting current weather conditions and alerts the way the weather channel did!
Anyone know of another cable TV/Internet provider that still has the weather channel?
And...., is it not interesting that we got no notice that Verizon was dropping the weather channel?!?!?! Every other time a channel has gone away, we got a couple of weeks notice and time to complain and hopefully stop the dropping!

How in the world can you not renegotiate the Weather Channel contract? It has more than just the weather on it but to say the least, it has the BEST weather reporters on air of any service available. I've already looked at your new "AccuWeather and it is lousy to say the least. You need to put your thinking caps on and get the Weather Channel back onto FIOS. Had I known this a month ago when I was switching providers, I honestly would not have switched.

I'm extremely annoyed to find out after the fact that the Weather Channel, and moreso Weather Scan have be cancelled. I relied heavily on these channels. I just signed up for a two year deal last October and now feel like I have been sold a bill of goods. Someone at Verizon needs to be fired for this. For the record AccuWeather sucks.

whoever made the decision to remove the weather channels doesn't have a clue--we are senior citizens and do not do apps and the substitute info you have provided is NOT SATISFACTORY! If you do not bring the weather channels back we will be looking for a different provider!!!

The widget is unacceptable...and so is Accuweather. This sommunity needs 24 hour live weather service! Who thought this was a good idea?! I know that things have to be negotiated - that's life, but at the demand of your loyal customers PLEASE reconsider and reinstate TWC.

This is a disgrace, your cavalier attitude is a slap across the face of your customers. Did you actually think you could **bleep** your way thru this. Unacceptable Verizon ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I am surprised that Verizon would would deny their FIOS subscribers access to the best live weather coverage and expertise that only The Weather Channel can provide. TWC is a mainstay of cable TV service and is one of the original channels. No other channel will provide the coverage and in depth discussion of the weather that they have. I would ask that Verizon revisit the issue, listen to its subscribers, and re-negotiate with TWC to bring it back. Preferably, before hurricane season...

It is outrageous that FIOS thinks that we can "just use the internet" to replace the Weather Channel! TWC has the latest information, the analysis, the graphics, people on site, the whole story. I want good meteorologists not just numbers on a screen. I have been watching TWC since it began and I will happily dump my FIOS fourplay for DirecTV if they follow through with this ridiculous decision. Come on--we know you all were watching it last Wednesday night, wondering when the snow would start and how much we would get. Get a clue!

Bring back channel 49!!! You **bleep** just don' go stopping a channel that many people actually use as opposed to most of the useless crap we have to pay for! If you don't bring it back there will be repercussions EI: like me and many others being **bleep** off. Not good loyalty, profitbility or common sense for future use/upgrades or recomendations for future users

Just one more reason to dump Verizon. The Quantum TV service has one issue after another. I pay a premium for these services and am tired of bad service.

Exactly - great timing on notifying custromers too. Turn on the tv today and update occurs and the message indicated that TWC and Weatherscane is gone.
WOW - thanks.
Nothing against Accuwether.......but it is not showing local weather in our region. WHich is worthless.
A year ago Verizon FIOS eliminates the other local live weather radar...and now the Weather Channel and Weatherscan is gone.
I am so tired of channels just disappearing left and right OR VZFIOS deciding that certain channels will be only available on certain packages even after you have a package and they were originally available/offered without proper notice.
Well, I have less than 1 year left on this contract - I am definately not renewing or continuing after that even after 8 years.
This is getting old real fast......

I belive The Weather Channel is owned by NBC, and NBC is owned by Comcast. Maybe that's where the problem lies?!

Directv and Comcast seemed to have.
Did you even ask what customers would prefer?
This will be a great disservice to FiOS customers. I ask that you reconsider this decision. Otherwise, as soon as a competitor comes along offering lots of perks, I expect you may lose some formerly loyal customers.
Again, I ask that you reconsider or at least ask your customers before you proceed.

There was the weather scan channel too that had very local specific info. This accu weather product looks like 1990's graphics shot from a webcam, kinda like fios 1 news! If you dont bring the weather channel back by friday Im switching to optimum triple play!!!
The weather channel was very nessecary in NY before and during SANDY to those who remember, It wwas the first weather service to start forcasting the impending disaster 5 days or more before the storm, and one of the few who fully hit the magnitude of the disaster squarely on the head, unlike the National Weather service!
