So this morning My Verizon app sends me an intrusive notification saying "Refer a friend and get $180. There's no better time for your friends to switch to Verizon." The page for "Communication Preferences: Notification settings" only has settings to control notifications for 1) Billing, 2) Payments, and 3) Mobile Hotspot but there is no setting to control whether I receive promotional noticiations from Verizon." The page https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-205636/ says that communications for My Verizon app are managed, for promotions, on the My Verizon Website but the website link links back to the "Communication Preferences: Notification settings" page https://www.verizon.com/digital/nsa/secure/ui/acct/prefCenter#/settings where there is no setting to control My Verizon promotional notifications. So far, for me, it is impossible for me to turn these off unless I disable My Verizon notifications on my phone entirely, which I don't want to do. Meanwhile, Verizon says on some support pages to go to SETTINGS > APPS > MY VERIZON and customize the Notification Categories, but on my android device there are no Notification Categories to customize.
