Hi

I need help recovering my old phone number that was mistakenly changed on Saturday, May 31st through the Verizon app.

I had requested to cancel a second line, but it appears it was instead tied to an iPhone return. When I attempted to change that second line’s number, the app showed it as active. I selected a new number, confirmed everything looked right, and submitted — but it changed my primary number instead.

I called 800-922-0204 immediately, but it was after hours. I used chat support, and the rep accidentally changed another unrelated line. That was eventually fixed, but by then I’d lost valuable time.

I’ve followed up daily and still have an open ticket, but I’m being told the number isn’t recoverable. This wasn’t user error — it was a system issue. I’d like this escalated and reviewed for override if needed.

For context: I reside in California and operate a business in Arizona, which may explain any area code mismatches.
