Setting parental controls

I just signed up for Verizon Fios home Internet and trying to set up parental controls and internet schedules for my kids and the My Verizon app continues to not work anytime I click on the “Internet” option. The screen goes to a new screen that just has a circle in the middle that just keeps spinning round and round. Nothing ever happens. Really disappointed in this app when I just left Xfinity who had an amazing app that allowed me to set amazing parental controls on all my kids’ devices. I have deleted and reinstalled the app numerous times and it still doesn’t work. The website doesn’t work either.

Piece if advice for Verizon - fire your entire staff who is responsible for your terrible app - and hire the folks who did Xfinity’s.

This issue is not just a me thing either. I have searched numerous sites trying to trouble shoot and all I’ve seen is literally hundreds of people all saying the same thing - Verizon’s apps and websites are complete garbage.

Please fix this ASAP!!!

I have the same issue! The old My Fios App works much better! It still has this function working, but they are shutting it down on 1/23/24! I now have to delete all the internet control as for my kids devices, otherwise when they take down old app, I will have no way to update this! I wonder if they are trying to have people pay for this service.

Same issue! I spent over an hour with a tech guy trying to explain issue.. he told me my router was old which I find kind of a horrible explanation bc it worked with old fios app just fine.. it’s this new app that is a p.o.s

Did not know this was going to happen as you have described it and it happened to us this week when the app went down. How did you know this a head of time?

Worst app EVER! The myfios app worked amazingly! I need to find how to block internet access again - I had aaaalllll devices identified on the old app and was able to shutdown my kids accessibility at any moment. Bring back the myfios app. This one does NOTHING.

So Ive had Fios internet for the better half of 10 yrs and I have always used the My Fios app and had a Parental Control Profile for my children that gave me complete access to when and how long my children could access the internet for all of their devices (iphones/ipads/PS5/chrome books, everything!).

Just recently, the My Fios app went into retirement and the My Verizon app took its place. Since then, my children’s devices have no longer been able to connect to the internet as the Parental Controls Profile and Active Device Page has not been accessible through the app.  This has know become a serious issue in our home as both children cannot use any of their devices and more importantly, their chrome books have become unusable to be used at home to complete their school work. Verizon Help Desk said that the developers of the app are still working on the Parental Controls options and they will update the app ASAP when it is completed. (After about 30 mins of waiting for a call back and an hour on the phone with the rep, No timetable was given to resolve this issue)

This is by far the worst experience I have had in the 10yrs of Verizon service and it has crippled our childrens access to everything they have had for school work and social media with their friends. Verizon needs to do something about this matter immediately!

I can see this as being a HUGE issue! I would use the "block internet usage" on my kids' devices every night and then go back into the myfios app every morning to unblock it for the day... if I did that the night before the app "retired," all of my kids devices (and gaming system!!) would be blocked!! I can't believe they have done this with this new app. Terrible!! I feel for you - and your kids. So frickin frustrating.

Notification were going our for a few months over email and recently there was a screen when you opened MyFIOS informing us it was going away.

Please check today and see if the issue persists.

The issue is now resolved. We can manage the router's settings through MyVerizon app.

Schedule and access for connected devices can be managed now via the MyVerizon app.

I have the same problem.  My Verizon app removed the parental control feature recently and as I was using the MyFios app I was able to block and unblock my kids devices. I didn’t unblock in time when they sunset MyFios.

Does anyone have an idea how we can raise this within Verizon?  If I go through the old router gateway app, it sends me to setting up the router steps.
