I am finding apps on my phone that I have not downloaded -- that is, I haven't gone to Google Play to choose these apps for my phone. These apps are usually games.
Who/what is doing this automatic download - is it Verizon? Samsung? How can I get this to stop?
Thanks,
Samsung Galaxy 25

There are applications that are on the phone as default (and updates may include new default apps as well) Are there specific applications you are referring to that we could check to see if they are default with you?

Usually games. The games I just deleted were Fishdom and (I think) Blocks.

Hi, if you have a Verizon carrier phone, it's because the Verizon App Manager comes installed as a part of the carrier software and it will automatically download 3rd party apps any time you get a software update. All carrier phones are an "ads" version as every company has some means for 3rd parties to advertise or market somehow on them. The only surefire way around this is to buy factory unlocked phones.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
