I see other post on the topic but we all need to complain. A game called crossword something was just installed by Verizon app manager on my phone. This is evil. I pay a lot of money to Verizon and have five phones on the account as well as FiOS. Have some respect for your users and stop sending me games that I have not opted into. Provide a way to disable these activities and uninstall the game. I can't even find the game on my system. I'm sending this to my congressional Representatives because it's ridiculous and should be a violation of federal telecommunication laws.

You have to manually disable the Verizon App Manager any time your phone gets a software update; otherwise, it will download games or some 3rd party apps. Carrier variant phones are an "ads" version of a phone: they cost less than a factory unlocked version, because every carrier has some method for 3rd parties to advertise on their devices. The only way around this is to buy factory unlocked phones instead of carrier variant versions.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

Hi DaviDSD: Thank you for your feedback on this. We definately don't want you to feel this way and wanted to provide steps to prevent this issue from further inconveniencing you.
To manage applications on your Verizon device, navigate to your device's "Settings," then "Apps," and finally "Apps & Permissions." You can then view, manage, and, in some cases, disable the apps installed on your device, including Verizon-related applications.
If you're experiencing issues with the Verizon App Manager, you can disable it by going to "Settings" > "Apps" > "Verizon App Manager" (or DT Ignite) and toggling the "Disable" button.
