$20 Loyalty Discount

I just received a text today claiming to be from Verizon asking me to call an 800 number to receive a loyalty discount. If there is a discount, I would expect it to be applied without requiring a call. Is this text legitimate or a phishing expedition?

I just called and they said this is real. They are applying to my account now
