We just ported 3 lines from AT&T to Verizon. Our billing cycle is from 6/8 - 7/7. There is a $40 activation fee for each line plus $18.67 per line for the phone plan for the period of 6/24 - 7/7 (the 14 days in the billing cycle they will have been on our plan). But then there is a $40 'monthly charges and credits' amount as well... what's that 2nd $40 for? It seems as if it's a double activation fee. We called and spoke with a VZW rep, but they are unable to explain it to us in a way that we understand. Super nice, but not a clear explanation. All totaled, it's $117 for each ported line for the first bill... that seems like an awful lot and not at all what we expected based on conversations with VZW when we ported the lines.
