My wife and I just switched back to Verizon today. I went online to ensure that auto-pay was set up and was informed that I am not the "Account Owner." My wife is also not listed as the "Account Owner." Somehow there is a phantom "Account Owner" and no way to claim that role for either of our profiles. Please advise.
Whoever's social the account is under is the owner. The online account sounds more like someone it's registered as an account member. You're going to have to call CS and have the deregister your My Verizon account to re-register. First person who registers gets asked if they are the account owner or member -- the latter has limited access.
