My husband and I have been with Verizon for a few years. Our phones were still named under my father even though we were on our own. In order to remove that we had to make a new account. This cost me $80 of activation fees to stay with the same company. That's very disappointing. I attempted to do it online so that it would only be $20 per phone line but it wouldn't work online so I HAD to go into the store and set there for 4 hours with my 2.5 and 9 month old daughters. On top of that, I paid off my $159.00 balance of old account due on the 6th and now also have a $256.00 bill due on the 23rd already for my new account and fees but it's the exact same plan and exact same phones. I'm really confused on how that works ?? Is there any way to ATLEAST get a discount on the fees or something to lessen the bill. We will have spent $400.00 on two phones for one month of service instead of usual $160. That is a huge stretch for us simply trying to make sure the name on our account is our own instead of my father's.
