I'm still on the old Verizon unlimited plan from years ago. I have 450 minutes, unlimited text and data and pay about $118 total on my bill per month. The current unlimited plan seems much cheaper than what I'm paying, but I'm afraid if I switch, they might throttle me more. I use a pretty good amount of data per month.
Verizon doesn't yell at you till you used over 200GB a month constantly.
Go Unlimited bumps you down to unusable speed the moment a tower is congested. $80 cost for 1 phone.
Beyond Unlimited bumps you down when you used over 22GB and the tower is loaded. $90 for this one.
Above Unlimited gets you full speed up to 75GB before any chance of slow down at $100 for one line.
To answer your question, price aside, the newer unlimited plans are awful compared to yours. Don't let a sales rep pressure you to switch.
I agree with glitched. Switching to new unlimited plans will open your service up to the possability of the slowing down of data. The old grandfathered plan doesn't. Sit tight on what you currently have.☺

You need to be a bit more specific about what you mean by "a pretty good amount of data per month."
Verizon has a new unlimited plan, AboveUnlimited, which has a cost of $95/month for one line if you are enrolled in paperless billing and autopay with a debit card or checking account. Taxes&Fees would be additional, but I doubt it would bring it up over $118/month.
With the AboveUnlimited plan you get 75 GB/month of data at full speed before you would have the possibility of being re-prioritized. Personally, I consider 75 GB "a pretty good amount of data". Do you normally use more than that? I have seen people on these forums on the BeyondUnlimited plan using over 100 GB/month without noticing any deterioration in service due to speeds being slowed by re-prioritization and they have the possibility of re-prioritization after only 22 GB in a month. Whether or not you would notice any slow down in speeds with re-prioritization depends on the towers you use and whether or not there is a lot of traffic on them at the time.
Great question Fortaz107, it is always good to know the difference whenever you are thinking of changing your plan. Our new unlimited plans do have great benefits you can further review them to check which best fits your needs: https://www.verizonwireless.com/plans/unlimited/

Everyone likes taking advantage of the best plan possible to meet their needs. Good news is that we have 3 Unlimited Plans for you to choose from, Fortaz107. Depending on the amount of data you use, one plan will be better than the other. Since you mentioned that you use a pretty good amount of data per month, you may want to look into the Above Unlimited Plan. It will provide you with 75GB of 4GLTE speeds before you may notice slower speeds when in a congested area. The following link will provide more information on the Unlimited Plans we offer. https://www.verizonwireless.com/plans/unlimited/ Please let us know if you have any questions.
