I've seen a few threads with the same question, but there was no Reply button for me to join discussion, so I'm adding my own post. In each, a Verizon rep says the same thing. To read https://www.verizon.com/support/block-numbers/ #1, and to use the available Block settings in your My Verizon account settings. It also says that the settings should take effect immediately.
I have done just this, and saved settings for my iPhone 12 Pro to block all incoming text messages from emails and websites. I also explicitly added @gmail.com, @vzwpix.com, and @VTEXT.com domains in the setting that allows up to 15 domains or specific email addresses to block. The settings saved. When I return to the form, the settings are intact. However, I continue to receive text messages where the sender is a @gmail.com address.
Please do not provide any other solutions to me. I am fully aware of all the methods to block and/or report spam texts. None of the methods Verizon offers are a viable solution EXCEPT this blanket block all text messages from email domains and websites. Please provide an explanation as to why you keep referring user after user, in community forum post after post, to the same FAQ and the same settings that we are correctly applying, if this setting clearly does not work. If you do not have an explanation, please reach out to me privately or provide contact info for someone who can explain this. It is simply unacceptable for a business of Verizon's magnitude to continually give paying users the run around. It is beyond comprehension that you continually refer paying users to a service that on the surface is exactly what we need, yet the service does absolutely nothing. This is either fraud or complete and utter incompetence both from a support and technical perspective.
I have seen threads with the same question open for far longer than a year, and the support reply is always the same. We need transparency. If the service doesn't work, take if off your site and stop giving users false hope that there is a solution. If it should work, get the right people involved that can 1) fix it and 2) give us an approximate timeline as to when this will be fixed.
Please do not tell me to change my number or to report the spam texts by forwarding them to some number or anything else. My question, along with countless other paying users, isn't difficult to understand. If you cannot be direct with a completely direct and honest question from us, provide contact info of your manager or someone that can be direct. I have had enough of this. Thank you
