Call Blocking

Verizon no longer offers a convenient call blocking option on website.  I get a call from a reported Medicare Spammer 3-5 times per day for several days now. Others have reported the same caller to FTC.... and Verizon becomes part of the problem by not providing a call blocking feature for us home phone users. Government agencies do nothing.. Verizon does support this as they used to. Welcome to America, such a backward country when it comes to fully implementing our "civil religion" i.e. Adam Smith's basic tenet of capitalism: the consumer is sovereign, not the corporate giant whose business model is: "For every customer we lose, we get 5 new ones so why bother with customer complaints."

Verizon.. just another anti-social entrepreneur... the customer is no longer sovereign.

Re: Call Blocking

Are you referring to the Verizon Residential landline phone service or the Verizon Wireless home connect option?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Customer Support

Rustedout, I understand how getting unwanted calls can be a nuisance to our customers. We stop many robocalls before they can get to you. We monitor our networks to detect spikes in suspicious calls, and then work with law enforcement and with other telephone companies to shut down illegal robocallers. You can block unwanted calls based on risk level and silence the spam. Here is our Call Filtering option that may interest you: and

Here is what we plan to do about the robocallers: and here are our list of services that are offered:  and  Lastly, to block telemarketing calls, register your number on the Do Not Call List. Legitimate telemarketers consult the list to avoid calling both landline and wireless phone numbers on the list. Did you have any questions on these options?
