Is it possible to do a phone activation while being overseas? I brought a Droid Maxx to Singapore without activating it and obviously now being out of US, I am unable to do the *228 activation even with the Verizon sim card in it. I'm going to be here permanently. And even if I pop the local sim card in, the sim card is deem as unknon sim and I am unable to get any data or do voice calls/text messaging.
What possible way can I do this activation? Do I log into Verizon Wireless to get it activated? Will that work?
Or a prepaid card from Verizon shipped to Singapore will it help? Can I activate a Verizon prepaid sim?
Any advice will be most grateful!

Well, *228 doesn't work on LTE phones even while you are in the US.
Contact Global Support and see if they can assist you.

The Verizon account purchasing this Droid Maxx is not under my name, I purchasing it from someone else who sold this to me. So if online activation can make it work, does it mean that he will have to log in and do the activation? Will that activate the phone even though the phone is no longer in US?
Do you have an active Verizon account?
No I do not have an active account
Other than needing to have an active Verizon account, is there any other way to activate the phone?
No.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
We have a Verizon active account and a phone needs to be activated in Belgium!
