I need to pay this account off and switch carriers for the devices I am keeping. My husband is deceased. I cannot reach anyone and I work so I cannot schedule a call between 9 and 5 eastern. Is there any way to reach a human being at a time that will not cause me to lose my job?
If you're listed on the account as an account manager, you can call in request a disconnect. If you aren't authorized, visit a corporate store with a death certificate.
It should work if you have your numbers ported to the new carrier you are going to. When your new carrier gets the numbers tell them which ones you want to keep in use.
I ported to T-Mobile last week due to Verizon's very slow service. They have to release your number. After that they will send your final bill.
After 28 years I never thought I would leave Verizon but T-Mobile is over 10 times faster with both 4G and 5G. And I checked my entire area. Verizon's maps are outright lies quite often. Also, I'm saving $56 a month!!!
