Canceling one line in a family plan

I'm a member of a family plan (my mother is the account manager/owner) and want to switch to another provider, which would mean canceling only my line. I read that the remaining balance on my device would be billed next cycle - I was wondering, though, could I simply mail it in so as to avoid owning it or paying the remainder?

That is a great question, gberkley2. Typically, the device would be either paid off early or the remaining balance will be billed to the next invoice. In order to use the phone on another network, you would need to ensure it is paid off. As far as just sending it back, regrettably outside of the 14 days we cannot accept devices back unless they are paid off and being used for trade in.
