In January I cancelled my Verizon wireless services, however I continued to be billed by Verizon. The charges showed up on my Centurylink bundled account, like they normally would. I finally got Verizon to stop billing me and agree that $743.84 of those bills needed to be refunded/shouldn't have been billed. In May, Verizon refunded the money to Centurylink. On that same day, Centurylink unbundled my services. I've talked to both companies, frequently at the same time, and continue to get no where. Centurylink sometimes says that Verizon didn't send any refunds - other times they say that Verizon sent a refund on the May statement, but that Centurylink had to reject the refund due to unbundling. Verizon says I have a 0 balance and that Centurylink didn't reject the refund, therefore they can't issue another refund/credit.
I've been around and around with this for months, Verizon even issued a service ticket with their treasury department. That resulted in a $20 refund check that they sent to me (not sure how they arrived at that amount). I've talked to Verizon customer care, financial services, onebill, and home services. I've also talked to Centurylink customer service, financial services, and escalations and I've conference called with multiple departments several times. But I'm still stuck!
Verizon, please respond to this issue before I follow through with the BBB.
You probably should have unbundled the two services before cancelling the Verizon Wireless account.
