So I chatted with a representative because I noticed that I still was not receiving my employee discount that I used to have on the account for years and noticed that it was all of sudden not being applied. So I requested to have an email sent to my work email and confirmed it, blah, blah, blah. The whole process. After several months I forgot about it and then I checked and was still not receiving the discount. I then reached out to Verizon to explain the situation and they told me that because I have the Unlimited plan that those plans are not eligible for the employee discount. First, of all any explanation that they can give me is just sketchy, vague and has nothing to do with giving the discount itself. Verizon is the only one that can determine if the discount will be honored and clearly trying to save money and probably phasing this program out. So I told the representative that it is just pure sketchy on their part, but she tells me this is what she can do for me........She says that she can give me the 27% discount for 1 month because they "value" me as a customer. I was like alright this is better than nothing. So it gets applied and I pay my bill and save $17.55. I was still not happy but whatever. Then I noticed that the balance that I have paid on my device has changed also. So I pay $35/month for my phone for 2 years and the payment I just made was the 11th payment. Well 11*$35=$385 which is what I should have that I paid towards my phone. Now looking on my account I have only paid $367.45. $385-$367.45=$17.55 the exact amount of the "discount" that they were going to do for me. So basically they tried to make me feel good like they were going to help me out with the employee discount for one month but instead they are just hiding it on my device balance. Either way this $17.55 will have to be paid so there really is no discount at all. I just want to know what Verizon's response to this is and how often they do sketchy things like this? Seems like they don't value me as a customer at all and actually just think that I'm an idiot and wouldn't notice the changes. I have no faith in this company any longer purely just from this interaction.
Thanks Verizon. I'll await your response.
Well, if it's the single version of the new unlimited plan that was retired, 27% of $65 *is* $17.55.
When Verizon brought back unlimited data back on Feb 2017, it never was compatible with employee discounts, only military and autopay.
You did get a discount for the month, this post is just ranting for the sake of ranting.
