I’ve tried off and on for the last month to get Verizon to apply the device dollars I had accumulated to an iPhone I recently purchased through Costco. Costco said they couldn’t apply them because Verizon wouldn’t let them and I had to go through Verizon. I went to the Verizon store and they said I had to call. So I finally had time today to sit on hold forever to talk to someone. They refused to apply them unless I returned the phone to Costco and purchased a new phone through them OR signed up for their stupid Verizon credit card. I don’t need another credit card! I don’t understand why they offer these ridiculous rewards that they won’t let you use. I expected this though because I had seen many other complaints along the same lines. So much for Verizon’s amazing customer service! What a joke!
Clp23, we are sorry to hear you feel that way. Device Dollars must be used at the time of purchase, when purchasing a new device. Please see the link below for more information regarding Device Dollars and other Verizon Up Rewards.
Device dollars are point of sale only. There is no way to apply them to an agreement, they have to be applied before. Whoever told you to call is a tool for wasting everyone's time.
The only way to apply them is to return the phone and do a fresh new order. That may not be worth the time since a restocking fee is $50 and another upgrade fee will be $35 on top of that.
