Be careful; The employees do not know (most of them) the difference of loyalty plan and single mobile phone plan!! Found that out when I edged up. I have the unlimited talk, text and 1 gb (now) with 15 discount. There was a plan, not loyalty that did offer the unlimited talk, text and 2 GB of data.
Edge is not a contract. Pay the phone off and that's that. Loyalty plans don't need a month to month discount...they are already lower considering More Everything is $40 line access and $60 for 2GB data. Also, employment discounts do not apply to Loyalty plans.
My 'loyalty' plan still has me in contract for a year - I know Edge isn't
a contract. My problem is - I could have gotten the same phone for $150
in May with my upgrade - I agreed to this BECAUSE of the $20 a month
discount I was promised on top of my loyalty plan. If I had known
otherwise, I would have waited until May and not even bothered with Edge
at all. I want the discount I was promised, not to pay additional money I
didn't sign up for. This is crazy. If it is the employees at the stores
that are the problem they need to fix the problem - train them better and
compensate your customers. It's no wonder everyone is bailing from
You could also the call the Verizon's loyality group at 866.471.5307. They look at accounts to see if there is any savings. They may be able to find you a better package for your needs and they really know what are talking about.
Like I said... They are the only people who really know what they are talking about. Did you call them?
Well... I talked to the loyalty dept. and yet another person in customer
service after that - so far no one has done anything to amend the
situation. I told every rep I talked to that I was leaving, and I am.
T-Mobile will pay off a phone up to $650 (I still owe $621 on mine through
Edge) so I am gone. It's a shame too - I have been with Verizon for
almost 6 years - but this year alone I have had more trouble with them
than I have in the past 6 years combined.
Thanks for all the help everyone - you were more helpful than Verizon
