If you have made it this far I'm sure you've realized what's going on here... We post someone from Verizon says oh hey we can help, let us PM you. They PM look at our accounts and say exactly what were complaining about... Verizon doesn't offer anything comparable to firstnet. So basically our options are to continue to get the shaft from Verizon or switch to at&t.
It was nice of you to post that. For darn sure big red wasn’t going to on a public forum.
So that August 25 announcement was just blowing smoke.

The whole thing is a mess. What VZW currently offers is extra priority that volunteers can sign up for and that's it.
Reading this thread, no canned response or calling customer service is going to do anything. Please don't take it out on agents when they literally have zero control in this matter. If AT&T is offering what you need, switch until VZW gets the hint they botched this bad.
What they should have done was have a special plan any agent can switch a first responder to if the account had an appropriate ECPD (employee discount) on file. It doesn't take a genius to figure out how simple this should have been.
Why can’t verizon say that?
It was a a total run around with no results. I have had multiple chats and conversations. The first time I was told to call back on Sept 7th when they were offering the plan. I called back and they were unable to add the supposed plan at the time because my discount wouldn't allow them. I was told I needed to go into the store and verify my employment. The store assured me that the proper code was added. However, I did this and my discount actually dropped. Then I called back to add the plan and I was told it wasn't working and they needed to submit a ticket. I was assured to be called back in 2-5 business day. 8 days later nothing. I called again and was then told that the plan was only offered for three days and that I had missed the window. I just happened to call all three of the days that they offered this so called promotion. After an hour long conversation, I was then transferred to a supervisors who said he needed to move it up the chain. Of course this came after I was told that it was my fault because I had just added the discount. Little did he know I had a discount for two years prior to them changing it to make this discount work. The supervisor told me he would get back to me within three days. Then total silence again. I sent three emails to him and no response back. I called customer service who directly emailed him and no response was received. Two weeks have gone by and nothing. I spoke with AT&T and they are offering a great deal with FirstNet. Yes I know the coverage isn't as good but at least they do not prioritize on the FirstNet network and it is offered at $39.99 for first responders. Thanks Verizon for the continued ignorance. I just happen to manage our Business account for the department and we are now in talks with AT&T with our 100 plus line.
I had the exact same run around over the past month. My discount went from 15% to 8% after they changed it to allow them to add the plan that seems to not exist. Look at FirstNet. They are pushing very hard to get First repsonders on the network. No throttling and $39.99 for Unlimited. Yes I know their network isn't quite as good, but it is pretty close.
We are all small fish in Verizon eyes! What we need is to get this issue on a big youtube channel, someone in the tech sector with lots of followers. It is the only way we will bring this issue to the spotlight. 4000 or so view's in this forum is nothing, but 400,000 is a different story. Anyone got a connection?
