About a month ago, I got a notice on my Verizon app that because I was a customer for 5 years, I was being given a $10 Amazon gift card. I clicked on the card, and it specifically said, "Never Expires". So I thought great, and to be honest forgot about it. Today, I got a notification that my Verizon Up rewards were about to expire. So I got a $5 Amazon gift card and remembered the previous $10 card. Except, I couldn't find it. So I called Verizon who told me that because I hadn't used the card (the card that said never expires) it had expired.
This is a great way to treat your 5 year customers. I wonder how many customers last 5 years? I get emails every week from T Mobile and Sprint offering me the moon to switch. But for the last 5 years I have been with Verizon. And when you try to do something to let me know you appreciate me, you pull it back. So maybe the next time T Mobile send me an email, I'll read it...
One more thing, I think it terrible that you've made it so hard to contact customer service. I have to either chat or call. If I would have had the option to email you, I wouldn't have posted this publicly. But maybe it's for the best, so other people can see how 5 year customers get treated.
