I am having same issue on 5 phones on my plan.

(1) A20, (2) S8+ and (2) S10+

"Data connection not available"

I have followed this thread and done everything suggested and still have no ability to connect.

I have Go Unlimited on these phones.

This was noticed this morning - only affecting hotspot availability.

Mine also worked yesterday and today, nothing.  I haven't tried chatting with anyone yet, because I don't want them to tell me that I no longer have it.  Maybe it's a system glitch?

Just for point of reference, I'm on the newer Verizon unlimited plan. Was on the unlimited plan back before they modified it to remove the full Apple music and add the Disney bundle, and changed to the newer version with the Disney bundle.

So, I doubt it's a nefarious plan to force people to upgrade, since I'm already on that plan and it is causing trouble for me today. Don't ascribe something to evil plans which can be more easily explained by incompetence, I think. I think their system (network or user database) is out to lunch early today.

I'm having same problems as everyone here, I have a plan that includes mobile Hotspot and tethering and today I'm getting the "data connection not available error", which is just awesome cuz I have a paper due today that won't get finished. Can't believe how much I pay Verizon every month. I'm out of my contract, thinking I should just switch to another carrier. I'm in school I can't have connection issues like this. I did the phone reset and battery settings too, btw.

Data connection not available? Considering I pay a hefty bill every month just for a 2 phone plan...I'm kinda angry. I use my hotspot to connect my laptop and printer for school for my step daughter and now she's messed up on getting her assignments done on time. They need to fix this issue asap now that most people need this for virtual learning this year

Same message here.  Hotspot will not turn on.  We have samsung phones on the unlimited plan.  Trying to work from home as well as kids that have school work to do.  Been waiting on chat for an hour and a half. Also did the phone call without getting any help yet.  Waiting on a call back.

Same here, all 3 of our phones wouldn't hotspot this morning...  had to drive my step son to someone else's house so he could have school today...  we've used the hotspot feature for years now without any problem and then today, the second day of school it all craps out...   I am beyond frustrated...   I've tried the following:

-turning phone off, on, numerous times now
-remove sim card, reboot, put sim card back in
-Setting power settings to "high performance"
-reset network settings
-turning on and off adaptive power settings

All phones text, surf internet, make calls, etc.  Try to turn on hotspot and I get the same error on 3 different phones:
