I receive government assistance and was approved for the Affordable Connectivity Program. I walked into my local Verizon store and explained that I wanted to start service with Verizon. I had a perfectly working phone and I was told that if I trade in my phone and sign a 36 month contract I could get a upgraded phone for only $10 and that my phone plan would be $50/mo, with ACP it would total to $20 a month. I signed the contract. The same day I logged into my new account to see that my monthly bill was $150. I immediately tried to cancel it by calling Verizon. I was refused. I was told I couldn't cancel because I had signed a contract. I told them I was lied to.
Now I have no internet or phone service and I have called Verizon a dozen times on a friends phone to sort it out an no one is helping me.
Verizon is predatory and I was intentionally tricked so an employee could get a commission on my sale. Now I'm trapped in a predatory plan I cannot afford and my phone has been shut off.
Please someone help me.
