I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
Don't do it or you'll be paying an entire month more. That's how they got me. I upped my data to a new unlimited plan and they backdated my billing date by a month. That means they attempted to charge me for an entire month of service I never received. They weren't going to prorate it. That's illegal! That's also why I canceled my service and why I'm starting a class action suit. If they're doing it to me, they are doing it to others too. When they changed the date, the second you alert it, they'll Baja it a full month. You might wish to check your previous bills because if you upgraded, they backdated your service too. If they did, you're getting charged an extra month's service illegally.
Lol. Payment date and rate plan change are two different things VERYANGELIC. With regards to Verizon having to back date the effective date of your rate plan, I personally don't see anything illegal there. Say you have the New Verizon Plan Small (2GB) for bill cycle 11/25 to 12/24 and ended up using 4GB before the end of that bill cycle then you requested to have the New Verizon Plan Medium 4GB, it is only reasonable that you pay the cost of the New Verizon Plan Medium 4GB for that bill cycle. Each rate plan do have an allotted allowance. If you think that the cost of each rate plan should be prorated, then the allowance of each rate plan will be prorated as well which means you can end up paying more.
They just did it to me. A week before my cycle ended they changed me the unlimited plan amount, backdating it one month. However, I never even got close to my previous limit on the old plan. Are you with Verizon?
If you never got closed to what your old rate plan's limit then you could have requested to have the Unlimited Plan effective first day of your next bill cycle. Customer Care can validate it anyways and credit you the difference of the old rate plan and new rate plan cost if the data usage of the account didn't really exceed the data allowance of the old rate plan on the bill cycle where the system charged you the Unlimited Plan.
It's important your service is not interrupted, RSCRAPP1E. We would recommend reaching out to our Financial Team directly to discuss your scheduled payment. They can be reached at 866-266-1445.
