I haven't had any problems with my M8 crashing the apps and closing them. Today my meetme app started to as well as the verzion app itself. I went and rebooted my phone completely and now my bank app and facebook is doing it. Could it be because of the new software update to lollipop 5.0.1? Is anyone else having these problems?

If your phone is constantly crashing after a large OS update, the first rule is to check for apps that arent playing well with the update. This can be time consuming. Another method is a factory reset to default. Backup files before doing so.
We did a factory reset at verizon yesterday. They apps hadn't started
crashing and not letting me in until yesterday either. We have storms
coming but does that affect anything?
It crashes facebook, bank of america, and meet me so far those are the only
apps. The os update was in either in March or early April. Just starting
now and I have an out of state number.
I looked up on all the apps that are crashing and it seems that everyone
who uses said apps including the my verizon app are having the same
problems with this phone. I am going back to verizon today but is there
anyway to get a like-new certified phone since this one is a defect of HTC
While under warranty, Verizon will send you a refurbished M8 within 2 days and you send back yours in the same box the replacement came in. Stores generally don't do warranty exchanges due to selling only new phones and rarely have I seen stores carry refurbs.
I called the HTC and the man said to do a troubleshooting and then
something like the cash certified (it was really hard to understand). How
would I go about seeing if I could get a refurbished one? Refurbished
meaning that it is all up date with no problems right?
Given that I can get a refurbished phone because it is under warranty and I
have the basic verizon insurance (I missed the higher up insurance
deadline) I would take mine and the sent in phone to verizon to have it set
up or how does that work? I'm not trying to be a bother, it just really
sucks not being able to use a almost brand new phone because a defect.
