It's official: Troy was wrong.
I just checked my account and what do you know...the $25 discount is gone and I had to manually reapply it. Now it says it can take 1 to 2 billing cycles to show up.
The moral of the story is: don't pay off your Edge agreement at the end of a billing cycle or you may lose the discount you're getting on the next bill. Or course now it just seems to push it back, but we shall see.
I was able to apply the discount myself by going into my account area. It was just 1 simple click once there. I had a chat with another Verizon rep who made some notations on my account that if I don't see the credit on my next billing cycle, or rather the 1-2 billing cycles, that I'm to be given a credit.
It doesn't make sense how they do it. But alas, we shall see what happens.
Do not trust them, especially the online representatives. I got it in writing from one of these reps over online chat details about a military discount and Verizon Wireless has now told me that they take no responsibility for what their rep said. See my discussion at "Verizon's lies about Military Discounts."
It does not matter if you talk to a sales rep in person, over the phone or online - each and every time I get a completely different answer. So who is telling the truth?
I've been around long enough to know that until I see something, I am skeptical. I browsed your novel of a post and the only information I can provide is that you need a certain plan in order to qualify for the military discount and discounts are only taken off the data portion of your bill.
If you provide a brief description of the current plan you're on, any discounts you're already receiving, how much you're paying, types of phones etc etc. I am sure we could all take a look at it and crunch some numbers to see what's going to be cheapest for you.
They may have changed it. I'm trying to remember if it was 6GB and over gets $25 and under 6GB is $15. It could be worth a chat with Verizon and just ask them what the minimum GB you have to have to get the $25 discount. You don't have to make it about your account specifically.
IF you are paying for a 6 GB data pool, are on the More everything plan, you are eligible for a line discount of $25 off the $40 fee. This is for full months. If you change your data plan mid month, you won't get the full discount.
