Looking at your additional breakdown, you may be paying $420.99/month but only a FRACTION of that is actually for your cellular service. As a result, lowering your SERVICE cost will only have a minimal effect on your total monthly cost.

Your SERVICE cost is listed below:

$77       18 GB data

$10.08  LG tablet:

$24.48   Line 2602

$24.43   Line 2603

$24.47   Line 2604

$27.48   Line 2605

$30.08    iPad Air 2

TOTAL SERVICE CHARGE on 6 lines(including taxes/fees) = $218.02

You have ADDITIONAL charges on your bill which include your INSURANCE and COST OF PURCHASING DEVICES which I have listed below:

$53 Total Moblie Protection(which comes to $636/year)

$144.97  Monthly payments for purchasing your 4 smartphones and iPad Air2.

Ways I would suggest lowering your bill would be to drop Total Mobile Protection UNLESS you find yourself using it on a regular basis. What you would save in monthly premiums PLUS the deductible you would pay should you need to replace 2 devices would MORE than be saved EVEN if you were to purchase 2 replacement devices every 2 years at full retail value.

For example, you pay $1272 in insurance premiums on your devices every 2 years. If you were to file 2 claims during that time at an average of $150 deductible each time, that comes to $1572 over 2 years. That is enough money to pay for 2 phones on average of $786 EACH. Do you average 1 insurance claim/year on broken phones? You would have to average 3 or more claims over 2 years before you would be saving money by purchasing the insurance. Personally, I have NEVER purchased the insurance and have NEVER needed to use it in 10+ years with 4 lines of service.

Bottom line is that OVER one third of your monthly bill is the cost of purchasing the devices you have chosen. There is NOTHING you can do about THIS portion of your monthly bill aside from paying them off. At that time, your monthly bill will drop UNLESS you purchase MORE devices as replacements of your current ones.

You CAN drop your bill by $53/month by eliminating your insurance payments. Of course you will need to be careful with your devices. If you have had multiple insurance claims in the past, you may want to think carefully about this. If you have NEVER filed an insurance claim on your devices(many people don't) then you will save over $600/year.

Keep in mind, you are only paying $218.02 for your SERVICE. The other $200 is for the insurance on your devices and the cost of purchasing those devices. You want to lower the cost you pay each month for your devices, don't purchase such expensive devices next time.Smiley Happy

I'm paying $465 a month for 4 phones and two tablets. I'm at the point of going to prepaid phones where you can get unlimited call, text and data for $45 a month. I called Verizon about 2 months ago to see if I could get a better plan to save me money.  They said with my data usage I could drop down from 20gb to 18GB and save $30 per month. The only thing switching data plans did was give me less data for the same amount on my bill. Now for the last two months I've come extremely close to going over my data and being charged $15 per gb for going over. I wish I had a bill for $200 a month.

How is the $465 broken down?  I can come up with $280; or ~$300 with taxes and fees.  What's the other $160 going for?

18GB Data - $100

4 phones @$40 (contract)  - $160

2 Tablets @$10 - $20 for a total of $280.

If you are making device payments, the cost would drop to $20 per line + $xx.xx phone payment, but even at $30 per payment, the max would be $50 per line, or $200, plus $100 data, and the tablets would be $320 and taxes, still more than $100 less than your current bill.  Where's the difference?

I responded to your private message last night with the information you asked for. I hope you can find a way to drop my monthly bill because my bank account can't take much more. Especially when my cell phone bill is more than my car payment.

I'm not exactly sure what that post means. Any way you could condense that into something more meaningful? From what I can see, you have:

$82 Account charges and credits(is this a charge or a credit???)

$10.08 LG tablet

$60.48 Austin(smartphone line??? for line and phone payment???)

$64.59 Stacie(smartphone line??? for line and phone payment???)

$66.71 Dakota(smartphone line??? for line and phone payment???)

$67.64 Brent(smartphone line??? for line and phone payment???)

$69.49 iPad Air 2(for line and tablet payment???)

Total Current Charges $420.99

Is there some reason why each of the lines is so high? If you are on a phone payment plan, the line access fees would only be $20 max, so that means a $40+ phone payment? Those are some expensive phones. Do you have insurance on each of the lines?

It would be helpful to know what plan you are on and some reason why each of the lines has such a high charge. Do you actually need cellular data on both of the tablets. I have dropped the cellular plan for all of my tablets and use them strictly in wifi mode.
