Verizon just continues to think up new ways to screw their customers. With the new plan, line access fees are up $5 per phone if you are off-contract or making payments on the phone (EDGE); $20 rather than $15. That's $5 more for EVERY phone. And there is now no data plan between 12GB and 20GB, so you must make the add'l $40 jump. Obviously Verizon figured out that many families were using the 15GB plan, so eliminating that tier is an easy way to force them into an even higher priced tier.
With all of the bogus data overages that they are charging their customers, I would think that they are already raking in enough dough to leave well enough alone. Sadly, I'm wrong. Anybody taken a look at what AT&T is offering?
I'm trying to see which plan is right for me, but i have no idea how to find out my itemized bill e.g.:
"Existing More Everything Plan (15 GB)
Access Fee $40
Edge Discount $25
Net Access Fee $15
Phone Payment $31.20
Total for both $46.20"
Where can I find this information!? Thanks.
yeah I just screwed myself by accident and upgraded to the new plan. It's because Verizon dishonestly doesn't list the line access discount in your plan's price. Their website actually claimed I was saving $10 because it didn't factor in the discount!!! But the discount is clearly applied if I look at my bills for the past few months.
So I get to pay $5 more per month now. I only ever use 100-300MB of data since I'm on wifi 99% of the time. So I really didn't care about having 1GB of data. I won't use it.
old share more everything plan:
$20 for 500MB
$40 line access fee (- $15 invisible discount) = $25 line access fee
$45 total (includes mobile hotspot)
new verizon plan:
$30 for 1GB
$20 for line access fee
$50 total (includes mobile hotspot)
Well I did a little more checking on this... I hope that you have the RIGHT MORE EVERYTHING plan for you.
IF you want to change it will probably cost you more..
Example: I have family plan with 4 Phones and 15 GB of data. One Phone on the Edge Plan.
3 Phones on contract @ $40 - $120 $120
1 Phone Edge $40 - 25 $15 $20
iPhone 6 Cost per month $27 $27
15 GB Data Plan $80 $80 ( Only 12 GB )
Total per month $ 242 $ 247
So this would be $5 more per month AND 3 GB less data.
To change data now my options are:
8 GB $86
10 GB $100
12 GB $110
14 GB $120
Plus when your current contract is up and you go to Upgrade your phone.
You will now have to BUY it at FULL Retail Price to stay on More Everything Plan or swith to Verizon Plan to be able to make monthly payments.
SO HOLD OUT as long as you can.,
Hopefully Verizon will fix the Pricing to be competitive with other Carriers.
Verizon just made the Plans SIMPLE to PAY MORE !!!!!!!!!
This is precisely what I saw when comparing the plans. It would appear that I'm going to have to do what I did 15 years ago with long distance carriers. Whoever has the best rates and rebates will get my business and I'll switch carriers as needed. Kinda sucks considering we've been with Verizon for almost 20 years.
I Only see this as a benefit for family's trying to get by with a small data package and only getting the $15 discount.
I Miss the days when data was in 2 GB increments.
Yup, Verizon is increasing your phone's access by $5 (EVERY phone), AND they are limiting your data choices, most likely forcing you into a more expensive tier. WTH are you doing, VZ?
I keep the MORE Everything plan if I were you.
My More Everything plan is:
15GB: $100 per. Month
Line access fees: $15 per. Line for Month2Months
Or if you have edge agreement, is plus whatever the device payment plan is.
So for me... $100 15GB, + $15x5 and + 39.90 x2 (2 device on edge now) still cheaper.
When you upgrade, Verizon doesn't make you switch to the new plan. You can still keep the more everything plan. I just upgrade 2 device on my line and I still have the more everything plan.
Same here. I have 6 phone lines, all paid off and $15 a month. I also have a promotional data pool. My bill would go up $30 if I switched.
THe purpose was more to prevent new customers from using 2 year contracts.
All all carriers want 2 year contracts gone.
