If you look at the PDF of your bill, you should be able to see which sections have the additional charges, e.g. what changed from last month.
Having a bill that is consistent and easy to understand the changes, is vital. We're here to help and I'd be reaching out as well if my bill was $1800. Let's figure this out for you. To begin, I'd like to thank jav6 for his great suggestion. On every billing statement, typically the third page, you'll see the changes from last month's charges to the current month. As a reference, here is a great resource for viewing the billing statement and understanding the bill (http://spr.ly/66021kdLg). Please keep us in the loop with the success you have.
I have been in Mexico for 1 year as of Feb 1. Two of my 3 lines are in Mexico. I was paying for unlimited, even though the data is not unlimited (only 0.5 GB/day, high speed BUT after I use the .5, data doesn't work AT ALL. I've called half a dozen times to see how I can get my bill reduced, ALWAYS making it clear I am in Mexico. The customer service reps even thanked me for volunteering for coral reef restoration. My plan was changed many times and I never got the correct plan. So I would call again, change it and still not what I need. Reps said flat out "oh they lied to you to sell a promotion" Go a head read the chats and listen to the recorded phone calls.
On October 29 I called to inquire about suspending service until I return to the US. The lady said she can get my bill down to $220. She sent me an email confirming the price (M plan). She said everything would be the same but I'd have 4 GB data. The plan must have gone into effect because 1)my data quit working in Mexico (she failed to tell me the 4GB wouldn't work in Mexico. I called again to inquire about the data not working and the guy said I would have to go back to my old plan to get the data (.5 GB/Day under the unlimited plan) AND suggested I get a different sim card. Fine, I was willing to not have data to save $50. 2)My next bill, Nov 21 was $220 just like she said.
MY NEXT BILL, Dec 21 was $1884.25! I was charged roaming/min.
On Wed Dec 25 I called to say why. I explained the situation and was told it would be fixed. Eventually the call was dropped but I still got a text from
Sam at Verizon saying : "Please restart your phone and I'll call you back in a minute, the changes dropped our call"
Next text: "So I keep calling and not getting through but that's ok. Credit applied for $1389.98"
Next text: "which after the taxes are adjusted should bring your bill back to the $281".
Days went by and my bill did not get adjusted.
When I called again and again I was told different excuses why my bill hadn't been adjusted.
1)The plan didn't go into effect til the next billing cycle Nov, 22. NOT TRUE because my data quit working and all the other times they sold me the wrong plan it went into effect RIGHT AWAY and I was given credits
2) Everything is fine, just give it a few more days
3)Because I spoke to the guy about my data not working I should have known the plan wasn't for Mexico. WE NEVER DISCUSSED MINS.
4)All information is available on line so it's MY fault
5)Don't worry, we'll fix this.
Everyone at verizon says my bill was $1389.89 but it always was and still is $1884.25.
Once when I called I asked why my bill was $220 for the prior month the lady said "because credits were applied bringing your bill down"
On NOV 20, 2 days before I started getting charged for roaming, I got a text saying: "Appointment reminder for 11/21/2019 02:30PM at the Shreveport Store. I call fraud alert and was told my account was secure.
ALSO!!! even though I was changed back to my old plan, my Jan, 21 bill was $358.78 FOR 3 LINES and 2 lines don't get unlimited data.
I WILL NOT PAY THIS I have texts, chats, letters, that prove this is garbage.
You're not going to get a credit of over a grand overnight. Especially if the charges would be looked at as valid (international usage, not necessarily any plan changes).
A credit that high would also have to go through multiple levels to even get approved. Even then the subject would come up of why didn't you use a local service. Data was never advertised to work the same outside the US and that's not likely to change soon.
@katiepie1 Why on earth did you not change to AT&T prepaid? AT&T prepaid works very well in Mexico and it would be no additional charges because pre-paid eight gigs or unlimited covers roaming in both Mexico and Canada without restriction.
