We've had sporadic No Service on our cell phones for the past two weeks. I called Verizon and told them that I need to be able to call 911 because my 89 year-old mother in law lives with us has a heart pacemaker and history of heart problems and we need to be able to call 911 in an emergency. We have 3 iPhones and a Verizon and a Verizon Home Phone Connect. One Verizon tech told me about connecting to our home Wi-fi, BUT my wife's phone is a iPhone 5s and does't have the capability. We have been living here for seven months, the phones all worked correctly until about 2 weeks ago. No message from Verizon either, regarding a refund or letting us out of the contract early.
This morning, I got this message from Verizon:
"Our investigation has determined there is less than optimal signal strength in your reported area, which can cause weakened and reduced network connectivity, especially indoors.
Though Verizon has the nation's best network, there are small pockets that experience these kinds of negative connections.

To Verizon- I do not accept this answer. I would like a refund for the past two weeks and to be released from any contractual obligation I have for early termination. This wasn't a problem until two weeks ago. I have spent more than enough time attempting to resolve this and your answer that I should get a network extender at my cost in order to have what I used to have is unacceptable. We have friends and family who have visited and they don't have problems with their cell phone service.
I would suggest that you port the Home Connect phone to a landline based phone service if you needing a more reliable way to call emergency services.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
We have decided to switch cell phone providers. We moved into this house 7 months ago. There were no problems with the phones until about 2 weeks ago. We've had friends and family over at our house who have phone service with other providers who do not have any problems with their phones.
We need to have the ability to call 911 on any of the 3 Verizon phones from our home because of my mother in law's health condition. Verizon has provided their solution which is unacceptable.
Goodbye to Verizon.
