I was actually looking to possibly move away from Verizon for quite some time. However, when they announced the unlimited offer and the upgrade to the S8, I got sucked in. Despite the offer, it was very costly and obviously it required me to commit to staying to Verizon.
All was going well and as part of the offer, returned the 3 S7's as directed back to Verizon. Yesterday, I get an email that they received only 2 of the 3 phones but they were all shipped in the same box.
It is under investigation but unfortunately I am most likely going to be out at least $360 and seem to have no recourse. Unfortunately, I have no way to know if the box was tampered with prior to delivery or if the envelope was buried in the popcorn packing and thrown away by Verizon. Not sure how anything at this point will be resolved to my satisfaction. Waiting for up to two weeks for a status update is not going to help either. Verizon either has the phone or does not..
Not sure what proof I have that it was returned or how a customer is to protect themselves. Customers need to factor this in to their decision to trade in the phone.
Ticked off with no recourse.
