I have a family plan with 4 lines and after months of high bills, decided why not take a look to see the break down... I hadn't rushed, because I already knew that I was being ripped off. That's a given. I know that dealing with just about any cellphone or internet company is 10 times worst than going to the movies with a sweet tooth!
...but upon looking at my bill, I was not only shocked, but deeply offended!! On each of the four lines on our plan, they are extorting us to the tune of $20 per line! In total this ambiguous "line access" fee accounts for a whopping $80 of our $247 monthly bill... and they appear to be helping themselves to this $80 with not end in sight... To Infinity and Beyond! and why not? Its just my hard earned money in their pocket every month.
...and the government allows them to cheat us all, what a system?!
I don't know why this is a surprise or why you view it as a ripoff. As stated earlier in this thread, most plans, pre unlimited, are like this. If you have a shared data plan, there is a cost of the total data allowance (which you pay once each month) and then there is a per line charge for the access, talk and text.
In the case of unlimited, they charge per line without a breakdown of access vs data. Now if you are on a new unlimited plan and are getting per line charge, then yes, something is wrong.
KBD2K, being charged a $20 line access fee is not you being cheated in any way. This is standard depending on the plan you have with us. We always want our customers to be on the best plan that helps them save the most each month. Do you know the name of the exact plan you have with us?
