Suspending service for more than 90 days

I have already suspended my service for 90 days, which ended today. Is it possible to continue the suspension? I am living abroad for a year and would like to suspend my Verizon service while I am outside the US, but keep the same phone number when I return.

After the 90 suspension, the line is reconnected to the Verizon Wireless network and you will billed your normal monthly service charges. You will need to pay these bills in order to prevent you from being disconnected for non-payment. That appears to be the only way to keep the line activated with Verizon Wireless for the duration of your stay abroad.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
