As advertised, college and university professor are also qualified for the teacher discount. Even on ID.me website says so and advertised that you can submit other documents that shows being active in your position. We submitted my husband employment contract, his current badge (with name/title/employee number), and even the college website with his page that shows his teaching, his teaching courses, and his research's lab, all was cut short by a pop up from ID.me that they can' verify his employment. In addition, through multiple (8th time now) calls (each was about 45 min) they would transferred us to one department to another and then told us that we failed to submit the required teacher certificate. We tried multiple times (about half of the 8 calls) to explain to them that teaching certificate only applicable to K-12 grade school teachers. University professor earned credentials though 8 years of postdoc in research/teaching and still going to classes even when the whole world shutdown under COVID. We switch because of the discount so we can add our son in the plan where we can be in contact with him as his school bus is unreliable due to covid. Now they will not give us discount and we are stuck with the most expensive service plan for more people in our family. This is a true bait and switch. If you know how to have this reach to greater audience to warn them
Mngy, Verizon recognizes the compassion, service, and hard work of all of those who serve in schools. Many Verizon employees’ spouses, family members, and friends also work with students, so we understand and are thankful for the contribution all educators make. We are restricted to offering this discount to those we can validate based on standardized, national validation that is compliant with government regulations. There may be other discounts you are eligible for through your school district or employer.
